Player 1 Advantage?

Sorry if this is posted in a frame data thread somewhere but I couldn't find it. This article seems a little suspect when it comes to analyzing MK9, but the part about Player 1 having a frame advantage - is this true? The rest of the MK discussion seemed a little too simple. Sure there are bad match-ups in MK9 but a match is hardly decided at the character selection screen like this guy implies.

Yes it's true but it only occurs when both players hit on the EXACT same frame as eachother.

Only time this really plays a factor is when someone is pressuring with something that has nuetral aka 0 frames on block. Both characters have a same frame down poke. The player 1 will always win the exchange.

however if they poke your block you get a free counter poke. so IMO it's not game-breaking bad. But ya it's still bad.

One frame isn't that big of a deal. Well things should be 100% fair anyways, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. How about online though, are both players considered to be Player 1 or is it the person on the left?

I don't think so, I haven't looked in to it much but I think they implemented it because they didn't make hits trade, like other fighting games.
