PETITION to make certain rarely used moves D-Pad friendly!

I hope NRS reads this! (if they read this forum)

This is a petition to change this or at least give us the OPTION to use it this way.

Here's a list of moves I think are not very D-Pad friendly (which I assume 99% of all players use), and therefor rarely used at all, which is a great shame, and to some extend, maybe why certain characters are less played than others :(

I also know it's a touchy topic to change controls (as some players have already adopted these), but in the long run, this should be the best solution to see all the rarely used moves in MK9 being put to good use. I know people on this board is generally above average skill level, and therefor like have "uber skillz" and no problems performing any move or combo in the game.

(old = current, new = my suggestion)

Sektor:
  • (old) Up Missile Above: Down, Back, 3
(old) Up Missile Behind: Down, Back, Front, 3
(old) Up Missile Infront: Down, Front, Back 3
  • (new) Up Missile Above: Down, Up, 3
(new) Up Missile Behind: Down, Front, 3
(new) Up Missile Infront: Down, Back, 3

Noob Saibot:
  • (old) Blackhole Above: Down, Back, 2
(old) Backhole Behind: Down, Front, 2
(old) Blackhole Front: Down, Front, Back 2
  • (new) Blackhole Above: Down, Up, 2
(new) Backhole Behind: Down, Front, 2
(new) Blackhole InFront: Down, Back, 2

Jax:
  • (old) Ground Pound Close: Down, Back, 3
(old) Ground Pound Medium: Down, Front, 3
(old) Ground Pound Far: Down, Back, Front 3
  • (new) Ground Pound Close: Down, Up, 3
(new) Ground Pound Medium: Down, Back, 3
(new) Ground Pound Far: Down, Front, 3

Kano:
  • (old) Ball: Front, Down, Back, Front
  • (new) Ball: Front, Down, Back, 4

Quan Chi:
  • (old) Ground Burst Close: Down, Back, 1
(old) Ground Burst Medium: Down, Front, 1
(old) Ground Burst Far: Down, Back, Front 1
  • (new) Ground Burst Close: Down, Up, 1
(new) Ground Burst Medium: Down, Back 1
(new) Ground Burst Far: Down, Front 1

Now before you say things like "I can consistently shoot Sektor's UP Missiles EXACTLY where I want them, with my Xbox controller", please note that not everyone has such an easy time with these moves.
And NO, everything is not just a matter of training, training, training, or buying new expensive equipment to do simple things in a game. This is a problem with the nature of D-Pads, average joe's mature hand, and some moves in MK9 being designed for Sticks.

If you don't care for these characters or these moves, please let us who do, have an as easy time performing our moves, as you have with your character's favorite moves.

From your list I agree that Kano's ball is a bit hard to do on a d-pad.

Also, moves that require you to press 2 buttons at once are a pain in the ass.

Example, Cyber Sub's 2,1,1+2

Other than that I'm fine. The PS3 pad is solid.

You forgot the complete Jax's Throw....throw--->1+4--->2+3.
That ,in my opinion, is way too hard to do on the D-pad

This might just be me but i think doing Shang Tsungs soul steal button input is awkward to do
(F, D, B+3)

Agreed two button moves are a royal pain more so than anything well those and combos that require rapid button pushes such as Kung laus 2,1,2,1,2

I don't play Jax but does he seriously have inputs like that? How are you supposed to do that with your thumb? It's ridiculous.

And yeah another issue is rapid inputs like Kung Lao's 2,1,2,1,2 or Cyrax's command grab.

I have to say that all of the OP's listed moves present no problems for me when playing. However, I learned years ago how to roll my thumb instead of swiping it on the D-Pad. As a side note, I also play on PS3 which makes it a bit easier overall.

HOWEVER....
I do agree that there are certain moves and combos in the game that need to be corrected to allow for non-arcade stick users to do.

Kung Lao's 'Chained Fist' combo
Jax's Quad Slam throw.

Yeah....they're not gonna do this. It'd be nice, yeah, but they won't do this.
I don't feel anything wrong with the D-pad. I even use it before I switch to the stick.

Yet it's insanely easy to perform as is using the thumbstick. One isn't required to use the d-pad for anything, just as you aren't required to use the thumbsticks. No need changing the game because of that. I will agree though that the two button at the same time moves suck. Clearly those are intended for the fightsticks.

hmm, any suggestions for a decent fight stick that wont break the bank? im thinking 100 bucks or under range personally.

nothing against the OP, im just curious about fight sticks, i was never a arcade gamer, always a controller/keyboard (pc)

I'm on 360 and I use the stick most of the time, but I regularly go to the d-pad just to pull off a select few moves because it's more accurate for me on those moves. If you can master jumping back and forth between the stick and d-pad, it will help you a ton.

no problems with FDBF or DFB 1 and so on ..but ..cyber subs 2 1 1+2 or jax quadthrow and such are giving me problems ..

dont have problems inputting the 1+2 commands or commands like them, but th directional inputs that require tight timing in a combo oftentimes i end up getting the negative edge and using the wrong ability.

makes noobs corner combo really annoying for example, and ive only had the dash bomb happen to me twice so far on csz.

Practice people, dont be so lazy...

It has absolutely 100% nothing to do with being lazy. Actually the exact opposite, that we want to use these move more often, instead of being "lazy" and avoid them, or their characters.

And practicing them doesn't change that they are too slow to input, compared to them not being the slightest more powerful.

Trying to say that 4 button's to do one move is not different that 3 buttons is a lie. Then what about 5 buttons? Or 6?

But anyway, the result of these awkward 4 click basic moves is obvious. They are like NEVER used online because of this. To me (who care for some of these characters, and use them a lot) this is sad.

You have to understand, that not all players are "Super 1337 Haxor Skillz". Again, the point that you never see these 4 hit attacks used online (except Kano) speaks for itself.

But I assume you don't really care, so why bother?

I assume you dont care as you are having an easy time with Scorpion?

I never used Scorpion in online mode and i barely use him offline :P:P:P:P I use Sub-Zero, Ermac, Cyrax and Reptile.

And i think Kano's ball is ok like it is because being easier, people would spam it even more.

Dont assume because people who assumes, well you know...

All you have to do is roll your thumb on the d-pad. If you're playing people who rarely use the moves listed for Jax, Sektor, Kano then you should play some people who actually know how to use the character.
