People are disappointed with Reptile's look?

This, basically. Those of you that think I have a hard-on for pallet swap ninjas, just take a look at this interpretation of Scorpion. This is, by far, the BEST depiction of Scorpion since MK1. I wish SO much that NRS would go in this kind of direction with my boy, Scorps, but they wont. I don't think they ever will. I guess they just really like the idea of always having him decked out in gaudy armor pieces and excessive accents.

Sometimes, it's frustrating to have Scorpion be my favorite character. I guess I'm going to have to learn to like Sub Zero more. But, there's always hope for an alternate costume.

However, I highly doubt NRS will ever top that dude's idea of Scorpion. I'd surely like to see them try though.
 
You people fail to realize THE STORY behind Reptile is that people dont realize he is a reptile. he's in human form ninja as a disguise, and it leaves him mysterious...

he's lost all of his "wow"
 
I also am warming up to Reptile's new look. I feel like there is definitely a need to differentiate the characters in this game, as graphical and space limitations no longer exist to the extent they did in 1992. I am also happy about the retro throwback costumes! I enjoy some nostalgia.
 
One thing I still dont undertsand:

Will me buying the game at Amazon and getting the code to unlock the reptile costume, is it virtually IMPOSSIBLE at any circumstances to get the klassic scorpion and sub zero retro looks, other than being forced to buy another copy of the game at gamestop and best buy, respectively?

Basically what I am asking will it be impossible for me to play as classic scorpion or sub zero have I pre ordered my game from amazon and only having initial access to the reptile code???
 
i might just preoder and gamestop AND bestbuy, and keep 1 copy unopened and return it the next day since the redeem code is on the bill, not inside the case

Reptile will be my first classic costume, but certainly won't be my last if DLC has anything to say about it.

i understand that dinosaurs are related to birds or whatever, but the bird look just isn't intimidating to me. In the shaolin monks game, he reminded me of an alligator more than anything and it was a lot more badass.

Trust me I know what you mean. Scorpion is also my favorite character and I really love this look. It was even my avatar when I first came on TRMK. This was an old design that was actually going to be used years ago for a Mortal Kombat Reboot. I also loved the design that was done of Kano too for the same game.

Okay, people need to stop with the Dinosaur/bird thing. It's really quite silly. Reptile is NOT a bird or a dinosaur. He's some kind of Reptilian humanoid. A work of fiction.

Why do you say this? Reptile is a reptilian creature, and he needs a good design. Or do you want all palette swaps? I want them too, but as extras ;} (C).

Yeah... I know he needs a good design.

But that has nothing to do with birds OR Dinosaurs.

Someone said his bird-like face works with the fact that birds come from dinosaurs. And I'm calling bullshit. It's one of the lamest excuses for his jacked up design.
 
i personally really like he's new look.. i think it's really suits him and makes him look very awsome!

Palette swaps are a silly assumption for an alternative to the artistic direction of reptile. Good artistic design is also an alternative.

Step 1: Make an actual ninja. His base clothing is black, his tabard and accent clothing would be green alligator skin leather

Step 2: Give the ninja human skin with green undertones, implying that there's something more insidious beneath.

Step 3: Add extra tell tale signs that the ninja is not human but MAYBE reptilian

Step 4: ????

Step 5: Profit!

Reptile's new look seems to be equally hated and liked, I personally like it, but human Reptile is also cool. Although I can kinda see why people think he looks like a bird or a turtle. Come to think of it, why don't we have two actual ninjas that are birds and turtles?
 
I honestly don't think his mask looks anything like a bird. I don't think it looks like anything but a typical MK3-style ninja mask, but on an elongated reptile face.
