PC version of Mortal Kombat 9...

They know that most pc version sales come from steam and the idiots have not allowed preorders yet!! How idiots are they?? It will be my first game to preorder!!! But i will preorder it only 1 or 2 days before release!!
 
Yeah, this seems like a very low key release for them. I hope not so low that the port turns out to be a buggy mess like some people fear it might be. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt however.

In other news I got the new hori stick I purchased to sync with my computer and it is better than the old stick I used to use (a SNES ASCII stick via super smartjoy). So now I'm ready for more new fighting games (I mostly play MAME with it at the present).... I do want to mod it to add a better restrictor gate though since that's simple enough to start with.
 
We dont have to worry about the quality of the port. After so many people that asked for they dont want to dissaspoint them. Do you realize how imporant is the succes of MK9 on PC? The sales of MK9 pc version will decide if we get the future MK games on pc and a pc version of Injustice also depends on it!
 
It's important for us, the PC gamers. Sure as f.u.c.k. doesn't seem like it's important for them. They never really relied on the PC market, I truly doubt they will shift their attitude by 180 degrees now.

At this point I'm really starting to think that we won't see a preorder. The game will hopefully just pop up on Steam on July 3rd and that's it. No trailers, no info, no demo, nothing.
 
I think it's probably true that even more so with the MKAK with MK9 they are testing the waters out on MK releases on the PC. I mean, MKAK was not a good guage for interest because A ) it's nowhere near modern and B ) most people who are interested in it such as myself probably play it via more accurate means like MAME and are far more interested in native releases of newer games to purchase.

Something that I would agree with though is. If this was such a big deal for them why not make more noise about it? Right now I bet it's mostly just being kept afloat by word of mouth. There may be people who aren't even aware it's coming still. If they are trying to gauge interest for future titles the more publicity the better so they can cast as wide a net as possible.

As far as I can tell they didn't even mention it at any trade shows. They could have gone to rezzed at least... a PC orientated show and talk about MK to all the PC gamers there. I see no mention of Warner Bros. being on the show floor. The only thing remotely relating to it is the Batman Arkham City board game. :P

Also ionicle replace "hopefully" with "probably" in your last sentence and that's how I would have said it.

Do you realy think that they are testing the waters for their fighters on pc with MK9 ? Capcom already have tested them with SF4 SSF4 AE SFXTK, all 3 of them sold very well on pc(they said it themselves). After they finish working on MK9 pc version then they must start working immediatly on Injustice pc version and not wait months to make lot of money from MK9 pc before they start working on it.

Yeah, no, what I meant by saying "hopefully", was that I at least hope the actual game will hit Steam as scheduled, and not have any delays incurred. Imagine that - no publicity whatsoever, July 3rd comes, bam - a short announcement: "game's digital release will be delayed".

LOL, no way they would do that sort of early commitment, in my opinion. Not NRS. Not the people that seem to have a sworn duty of neglecting the PC community entirely...
 
It really looks to me like they just don't care tbh.
I don't know what to think or say but this is not good.

No one is talking about it and that CAN'T be good thing! I don't know what are they thinking.

What I meant is they may be testing their own waters especially if they are the cautious bunch they are painted to be here. MKAK was sort of like dipping a toe a bit... and now they are wading into the water with MK9. Capcom's fighters do have some relevancy since they where there first. But it wasn't automatic... Warner Bros. is taking the very cautious route when it comes to fighting games on PC.

If MK9 doesn't do well (and I already know you are convinced it will sell like gangbusters before you even start) they probably wont be porting Injustice. They probably wont start on it immediately after releasing MK9.

What I meant to say was. With "probably" as my key word I would have meant.. in all probability it seems at this point they may just quietly release it either on that day or whatever day they end up releasing it on. And no I wouldn't put it past them to delay it. They've delayed releases of ports of games before for "reasons" (such as when the Arkham games where being ported to the Mac).

Yeah, DSO Gaming was doing the same thing.... Mortal Kombat – First PC Screenshots Revealed Many people of course pointed out that those are old by now.
 
MK9 for PC is not going to sell well cause is already a old game, everybody have it for xbox or ps.
I think it is going to be different if it come with extra things.

Also right now, i think will sell better Injustice for PC that MK9.
 
Yeah it may sell pretty good but not the kind of "well" that is expected from a AAA blockbuster. Like millions of copies more like in the thousands. It's highly debatable especially considering the genre still isn't considered a PC staple like shooters are especially given its history on there. On the other hand just being an old game doesn't automatically mean it wont sell well at all. There's quite the market for old games on the PC.

We shall see though.. we shall see.

If it was released less than 3 months after console versions then it would have sold very well. The pc versions of SF games were released only 2 months after console versions and they sold well according to capcom(however they did not give sales numbers.) But if the pc versions were coming 2 years after console release then i highly doubt that they would have sold so much as they did. If Injustice comes to pc soon then it will sell a lot more than MK9 because it is a new game with a lot of hype, unlike MK9 that is a 2 years old game. NRS knows it and it will be a stupid move of them if they dont make a pc version of it. Then if MK9 dont sell well they will blame piracy and not themselves that they decided to release it 2 years later. But there is still a chance that it will sell well because fighters are mainly for online nowdays and if the netcode is good then people will play it for years until the next mortal kombat game release.

Yes, the absence of any information this close to release is really mind boggling. If WB skips advertising the game it will sell badly and I have no idea why they'd do that, I mean you can make great trailers even to the most horrible PC ports ever. :D
