PC Version / General Discussion Thread

I can believe I'm contemplating on buying a PS4. My PC must have like $2500 into it and I might actually buy a PS4! That's how much I love Mortal Kombat. It's sad really. Should I wait for another patch? Or just go with a console? I would love to play The Last of Us, and Uncharted 4. Mostly for MKX though. The PS version is probably so much better. I feel like I'm in the effing twilight zone.

I will get the PS4 version sometime down the line when it's cheaper. Not willing to pay full price for it again, even if I do love the franchise. There is also Witcher 3 coming out next week which I feel I'm better off putting money into that than a second copy of a game I already own, no matter what franchise it is.

Now, when it comes to the PS4, it's a solid console. I own one, it has some cool games right now, but there are plenty more coming for it. Bloodborne is an incredible experience, and if you haven't played The Last of Us on PS3, it's definitely worth playing the better version on the PS4. The Last Of Us is one of my favorite single player games of all time, up there with Half Life series, Portal, and Metal Gear Solid series.

I wouldn't buy a console for only 1-2 games though. IMO Lex, buying a PS4 just for MKX is a bad idea. Wait until you see more games you are interested in. If you do end up getting it, add me on PSN and we'll share more games on the console version once I pick it up. We had some good games on PC until the game stopped working for you.

If you buy a PS4 and MKX, I guarantee that you will be playing a MUCH better game than what HVS provided you with. Find a way to get your money back from that PC port though. HVS ripped you off, and you have a right to get your money back (whether they want to honor that right is another story though...)

did i miss some secret update or something?? I turned on MKX just to see if it was still lagging for no reason, and to my amazement, the game is running like a clock! No intro lag, No in game lag, i even did an online match and it was perfect. I always had intro lag since day 1. On and offline. Why it is running beautiful i do not know but i am going to ride this band wagon til the cows come home.

No news on updates, but there was some small downloading for MKX. Maybe that was it? But normally HVS won't call it a day without giving you at least 15gb patch.

Same here. I have never owned a console but as a big MK fan (with apparently no dignity if Miscura is right) I'm also considering a PS4. To be honest, I have read almost everything about PS4 and I like this console and it would be a good first for me. But when PC version was announced I bought a new GPU instead. After the recent setbacks I did the math, and if I sell my CPU and GPU, I could buy a PS4. As I see it, any of us who is still a fan of the series, will have to buy a console for the next MK game anyway because this $h*tstorm means the end of any possible future PC releases from NRS. Maybe it's better this way.

Just to clear any potential misunderstanding.

By "no dignity" I mean if someone will be willing to buy future PC version after this parade. I don't mention consoles. They are ok, they work. PC is the problem. And it is just my opinion, that buying MK11 PC version after all of this mess... wouldn't be alright... in my opinion.
 
There is no way I would sell my computer hardware to buy a console because there are other games that blow consoles out of the water. But honestly for anybody contemplating on giving up on this game, just check the PC version right now because for some reason,like I said before, mine is running absolutely beautifully right now. There must've been a little update somewhere.

No way I'm going back to consoles ever again. My GeForce GTX970 alone costs more than a PS4. lol

After the Jason patch, the game is running great. Yes, there are some frame issues during the intros, but I can live with that. Sometimes, I need to manually terminate MK10.exe from the Task Manager, but this is something they'll fix soon. It's a safe bet!

I'm sure they'll continue improving MKX on PC. IMO, every DLC character will come with a compatibility patch.

How do you know? Have you played the PC version?
 
All I know is something happened with the PC version in the past couple days that made it work a whole lot better. I don't know what it was but I'm dying for some kind of confirmation from high-voltage saying that there was some kind of update, if any. That would make me feel so much better. I have zero lag now. Something happened.

No updates from HVS so far. Basically no ones mentions any updates. Even so I noticed performance improvements yesterday. Temple and Jungle stage which still had issues for me suddenly went to 60 fps. Didn't try much online, but few matches I played were decent enough. No slow mo or annoying lag. Just kinda long connecting time. (my internet is fast)

If anything they might have done ghost update (to avoid blame if update messed up most likely)
 
I had a crash last night while online but it is still running good. The only issues keeping this from being great is online crashing, and finding an opponent faster and with a good connection. Let's go HV!!! Get on it!!!
