Maybe shinnok is the blood demon, maybe a jason goes to hell vibe. He is locked away in the amulet, but a part is still running around possessing people. The main body looks similar to sub zeros in the comic, he was possessed and he had the red lines running all over his body.

The costume doesn't have anything to do with that.

That's the same MK1 costume that Raiden had in the MKX story trailer, when he, MKX Johnny and MKX Sonya put Shinnok into the amulet, after the NetherRealm wars.
Raiden can be seen wearing that same costume in that scene, and Johnny is wearing the same costume from the Chapter 1 of story mode preview.
I really don't think that scene with that demon standing over Raiden = pre-MK1.
 
If Raiden is wearing his chapter 1 skin, then does that mean the demon isn't the final or even sub-boss? He is also wearing it while spying on Tarkatans with young Liu and Lao, but is shown in his other one talking to Bo about losing Liu and Lao's souls. I have no idea what's going on with Raiden in MKX.
 
Damn, looks like it is Onaga or at least the boss. Wish they would've kept him under wraps. He appears before the elder Gods, so could be Shinnok. Chances of Baraka increased, same outfit as the leaked photo so at least the doubters who thought he was a random Tarkatan are proven wrong.

By the way, this is from the commercial, not the shaolin video.
 
It also looked like it was at the top of the pyramid from armageddon amd it could be Onaga fused with blaze... Or just my imagination running wild.
 
Heh, I want to be THAT person and also throw out the possibility of thinking it could be Kotal. Not saying from my personal standpoint, but just for discussion purposes.

Yes, the end boss is a returning character... but what happens if the demon isn't apart of a returning character? Oooh.

The glowy marking made me think Kotal as well. But who knows?
 
what if its that thing you are supposed to hit 1000 times or something like that... I cant remember the trophy exact words but it could be this thing.

so heres to hoping hes playable AND has some better alt costumes/skins
a mk9 skin for his white suit would be nice. he looks fking great in that thing
 
Pretty sure it's just a generic oni demon, guys. In addition to Raiden being in his Netherrealm War clothes there, the demon that appeared at the start of the Chapter 1 gameplay also has the three horn things on his head, plus glowy bits.
