Has anyone else noticed how difficult and cheap Max mode is? THey can do shit that I can't do.

They can block nearly everything, excluding stomp moves, and can do hit after hit. Whenever I block something, then try to do a move, I get a super long combo done on me.

What gives?

It's not cheap at all, it's actually too easy for me. You need to start using some strategy and high % combos. Also, the CPU doesn't do 'super long combos', the most I have ever seen done is 36% which isn't much.

mid level Khan pull a 40 percent combo on me once. That was about the highest I seen.

Never try hard though. mostly I worry about how to deal with Blaze lol.

I try a strategy with Scorpion, because I"m best with him. I do spear, combo, then raise firem, then teleport, then R1.

But like I said, they block too much. When Noob Saibot did his, I had been holding block from the start and he still got to me.

The only combos I know are the ones in the moves list. Are there ones other than that?

I half-agree that it's not entirely fair. It's not the combos that piss me off, because they don't really do them that much and I can always block or break, what pisses me off is how they ALWAYS block everything I try to do, and do TONS of juggling and never let me down on the ground to fight back. But other than that....it's called MAX difficulty for a reason. It's supposed to be that hard to make you figure it out and get better. It's not impossible, there is a way. Just take the time to figure the comp out and you'll be able to notice what to do and what not to do around them.

=)

Thanks man. I got really mad at it yesterday. I just got Goro and spin slapped them till I lost at Frost.

Those juggling deals are frustrating. Its not really combos, its a series of special moves. Li3k,
Rain hits you with lightning then does a flying kick.

Yeah, but juggles are an essential part of the game as they were in DA and Deception. In fact, most juggles do more damage than standard high-hitting combos. You just need to learn the various pop-up moves and combos for whatever character you're playing with and keep THEM in the air. :)

You can only keep them in the air for a short period of time.

I do sidestepping, blocking, and breaking. Breaking works more for the computer though. I can't always get it right. They'd combo me, then stop, then I hold for a breaker, then they get to do another combo. =\

I try to jump backwards, but they follow me with their combos.

Frankenberry is right, if U play in max mode 4 awhile and watch how the comps play!
U see there very predictable if U watch them. Usually when I distance myself from them they either chi blast or they walk strait up 2 U and try to pull of there best ground combos!
I suggest U try this 4 a test, shoot at the comp with a spear (U said U play with scorpion) from 1 character away(What I mean by 1 character is just pretend that there's a character like shujinko standing in the center of both of you), after the attack he starts to attack, even when your far away. what I do after that is I ether sidestep, or parry, then knock him into the air and just go crazy on him!!! I hope this will help you :)

Lol.

Back in MKD days. It was a giant block fest between me and the computer. But now whenever I let go of block I get pwnt.

Thanx for the tips fellaz.

Do we forget the days when Kintaro completely destoyed us without breaking a sweat? What's the point in making a game with nothing more than an easy setting? Besides, by a show of hands, who here has won a fight with nothing but leg sweeps?

That's what I thought :)

thats a lil different. And I've never played MK2 on SNES, I've only done the ROM.

I lost to Kintaro on the ROM a lot, but I'm not that experienced for MK2.

In MK1, you could trip people to death on everyone except Raiden and Sub Zero.

Actually... It's funny that you mention it because when I first got the game, I was playing on medium and you know how easy the CPU is at first? Well, I've won a couple of matches doing only leg sweeps and a couple doing only jump kicks. MKII style.

o rly? I haven't experimented with it that much.

In Max mode, I can win the first round of the first person, then get pwnt the next 2.
