Official Street Fighter Thread

Notice that the group of characters is divided by colors blue, green and purple.

Green = Characters who were playable in SF4 series

Blue = Characters who were not playable in SF4 series

Purple = New Characters ??????????????

Well damn. I am not gonna lie. This game is looking better and better. This char looks badass. (Might be the first male main of mine on SF). Even so, it is kinda hard to get hype for this game. Especially after what happened with MKX.

But again Capcom can't allow themselves to do the same crap as WB. They are close to being bankrupt. They mess this up, they are in for a bad day. Might explain the small number of fighters. Most likely, if SF5 becomes successful they gonna add crap load of new dlc with new characters and so on.

Cause dammit. Game is looking amazing. I just hope they will deliver. (well at least they ports are awesome and netcode is freaking amazing)
 
I don't think I've ever been this excited to try out a new character before.

Like you know how you say, oh I'll try him/her out just to see but this time for real I think I might have found my second main. Especially if that is a command grab. Goodness gracious if it is I will be slam dunkin tiggas all across the screen :love:

May have missed this, but what "crap" has WB done that Capcom hasn't done 20x worse at one point?

I am just gonna use games which I have played as a fair comparison:
I am a PC gamer btw. Also all negative things I found are based on my opinion/experience.

WB side:
1. Social handling of MK9. Since the release of MK9 on consoles we had an "amazing" time of getting trolls/jokes and false hopes regarding MK9 PC port. Ed Boon made sure of that. Now, ok we could say this is childish to take it as a bad thing, but.. after finally getting MK9 on PC and getting the most ludicrous issues on it. It was really insulting.
But ok. I was just happy to play the game. I mean it worked fine, apart frame drops in Cemetery, missing maps in Arcade, whole Krypt being unlocked for some reason (which just killed the fun of unlocking stuff) and unplayable online.
2. We received proper patches for MK9 only A WHOLE year after MK9 pc port release. And right after MKX announcement. Coincidence? Of course not.
3. MKX promises. Short version

4. Couldn't play MKX at all for couple of weeks. Game is still not fixed and has annoying issues. Game is dead for me at least.
5. Batman Arkham Knight. But hey at least I was able to beat it.

Capcom side:
1. The most idiotic dlc policies. If people thought that Goro DLC was an outrageous act against gaming community, then they didn't saw what CAPCOM is capable of.
2. Hmmmm... can't remember anything worse. I mean their games (which I played) work fine. PC Ports rarely had any issues and if they had any, they were patched ASAP. Street Fighter 4 is a shining example. Oh yeah Asura Wrath... amazing game. No issues EXCEPT THE GODDAMN ENDING DLC. But that goes for first section.

So if I were to say. WB releases pc ports which don't work, lie to us to such extent (I mean at this point everyone lies, but there is an acceptable level of bullsh%t and then we have WB levels). You buy a game and you can't even play it properly or play it at all and just waste your time and money. I am glad Batman had an option to be refunded this time at least. But those who bought MKX... lol. Have fun.
To be honest if there was no refund policy on steam, then Batman might have stayed on steam store and we would get the same treatment as Batman Origins. Which was basically "we have no time for fixes, we work on dlc's"

CAPCOM are shady mofos as well (that is the reason why they are on edge of being Bankrupt), but at least all the games i played worked. Their PC ports work. I don't have to worry that I will need to wait a whole year or for another installment in series to get a patch for my CURRENT game. In short we have two evils.

WB will tell you game is gonna be mind blowing, it will be awesome, it will be godlike. If you're on console good for you. But if you're on PC, you gonna get leftovers, you gonna have crap, you won't even be able to enjoy it.

CAPCOM will show you that game is gonna be awesome (they aren't really social people), they gonna drop your jaw. But then will find a way how to make you pay for all those damn DLC's. But the game will work. It will work on PC. It will have a nice or even FAN-F$%KIN-TASTIC (sf4) netcode and you will enjoy of what you have at least.

In this case I choose Capcom. I tried trusting Netherrealm/WB. But after MKX... ain't buying sh%t from them. MK11 can be all awesome, and all amazing game for all I care. But I ain't gonna give a crap unless I somehow get "refunded" for all that crappy MKX/MK9 experience. And knowing that I am just like everyone else, just another customer for them, just cements the fact that they lost my and many others Trust forever.

For this reason I trust that Street Fighter 5 is gonna be amazing. Also the fact that CAPCOM is in danger, I guarantee they gonna put all of their effort in quality.

I pre-ordered my hard copy so I'm confused if I still get the beta access

If you pre-ordered from Gamestop, the code should be printed on your receipt. Other than that, I don't know.

Personally, I'm sitting this one out, since my internet connection is not so great. I was just curious if anybody here was going to test it.

Is there still a chance to get into the beta?
I am from Germany and I had no way to pre order this game.
I did participate at the beta registration for EU a while ago, but
never received an email.
 
Don't worry, you're not missing much. The servers have been down pretty much since the start of the beta yesterday, so you literally can't do anything at this time.

Sorry, "ending" is a bad choice of words on my part. However, it's going to go under an extended period of maintenance. Apparently, only a few people were able to successfully go online. Capcom is planning to bring the beta back, but the time and date is unknown at this point.
