Official MK9 Online Complaints Thread (lag, lame players, etc)

Re: Lag Issues Fixed?

yea its not fixed.i played about 10 games and im never touching online again until they fix this horendous netcode.and dont say its my connection because i was playing a guy from japan in ssf4 lastnight and there was no lag.

God damn lag switchers....

You ever get into a King of the Hill match, go up against a guy who has 10 Wins, and get a Flawless Victory on him, only for the internet suddenly going down to the point where he Uppercuts AFTER you and your still the one getting sent flying?

**** that.....

Re: God damn lag switchers....

Can't take the online serious man, its just a testing ground. The lag makes it impossible to pull off a lot of moves you can do offline.

Re: God damn lag switchers....

Me and my friend were playing a KOTH match and he picked random while the opponent picked Smoke. My friend was given Sheeva, and my friend won the first round pretty quickly (no spam either). Then, once second round rolls along, the game starts lagging pretty badly and my friend loses the 2nd round while the opponent was playing like it wasn't lagging at all. My friend ended up losing the 3rd round, then it was my turn. I picked Kung Lao against his Smoke and kicked his ass first round. Come second round I get hit with tons of lagg and my opponent is playing like nothing happened. I get an extremely bad start 2nd round, but I end up winning anyways. The guy was on a 6 game win streak when I beat him.

Online play is full of cheaters/people who rage quit.

Re: God damn lag switchers....

Whoever is on a winning streak in KOTH is always a sore loser after winning. He will either give the winner a score of 0.0 or rage quit before the opponent can pull off a fatality

MK9 online is horrible.

You guys on PSN really aren't missing out on anything. Honestly.

- Every match is insanely laggy, even with people from your area. That makes it impossible to pull off any decent combos and people that are really bad can beat you because they are lagging so bad. For the first week or so it wasn't TOO bad. But lately it's just horrendus.

- Most of the time lately the chat rooms are missing, which forces you to go into random matchmaking.

- Matchmaking takes 5 minutes or more.

- The game is notorious for freezing on both consoles.

- Ranked matches match you with people not of your rank. The first match I played, I was put against a lv40.

- NRS allowed for stupid 0000000000 chat rooms so people can put their chat at the top of the list.

- Everyone plays as the most noob-friendly characters. Scorpion, Ermac, Noob, and Smoke. Then you get the occasional Raiden player that just spams teleports.

Honestly if this game isn't fixed soon I'll be selling it. NRS said this is a tournament-worthy fighter with little to no lag online. Obviously a huge lie.

Re: MK9 online is horrible.

As I recall...I heard one of the cast on twitter or facebook say they were going to "Try everything" to get it to be fast connection?
If im just thinking i did, too bad, but if not...

Re: MK9 online is horrible.

Amen... just quit playing online because of the stupid lag. Makes it impossible to execute any good combos and makes you extremely vulnerable to attacks. Getting caught in the corner finding your buttons not responding immediately and your timing is completely off because of the response delay. Pissed me off tonight... ARGH!!!

Re: MK9 online is horrible.

Omg the amount of people that pick scorpion!!! He's pretty easy to beat, but still...

Yeah the online lag is terrible. It was harder than i thought getting all the online achievements... I just have to get the 2 "respect points" achievements, and the win 100 matches achievement, and I'll have 100%ed the game :)

Re: MK9 online is horrible.

- Most of the time lately the chat rooms are missing, which forces you to go into random matchmaking.

I haven't had this problem.

- Matchmaking takes 5 minutes or more.

This is the only thing in your complaint I've actually experienced regularly. It makes no sense because with a game this popular and this new, there HAS to be plenty of people trying to connect. I've never been connected to the same person twice in a Ranked Match which is also odd since most people would be doing the same thing I do and immediately select Ranked Match.

- Ranked matches match you with people not of your rank. The first match I played, I was put against a lv40.

They randomly connect and ranked matches aren't meant to pit you against someone necessarily of the same skill. Where did you get the level 40 info, too?

- NRS allowed for stupid 0000000000 chat rooms so people can put their chat at the top of the list.

They're actually called "channels" and the only reason I mention this is because you're complaining to professionals but you don't seem very versed yourself if your terminology is off. It sounds like a 6yo yelling at his mom for not making his sandwich right when he can't do it himself.

Even so, that's the fault of the users who create those channels, not NRS. If it weren't that, it would AAAAAA or whatever worked to get their channel to the top.

- Everyone plays as the most noob-friendly characters. Scorpion, Ermac, Noob, and Smoke. Then you get the occasional Raiden player that just spams teleports.

That's not NRS's fault, either. Newbs and spammers are a fact of life. I also despise them (especially the lamers who spam with Noob), but if you're good, they should be an easy win, which is simply a good thing since your rank will go up from easy fights just like they do from hard ones.

Honestly if this game isn't fixed soon I'll be selling it. NRS said this is a tournament-worthy fighter with little to no lag online. Obviously a huge lie.

It IS a high-level fighter, and that's all the NRS really promised. Lag is a fact of online gaming. Deal with it.

Re: MK9 online is horrible.

i haven't had much problems with lag either. do private matches, that's where it's at. me, luxu1 and Soogie aka Sugi aka jsoogz aka tater salad play all the time and for the most part it's buttery smooth. there is always a way to punish spammers, everyone has their patterns. i only have problems fighting against experienced raiden and ermac players. JAKE!!!

Re: MK9 online is horrible.

Yeah, a well-versed Raiden player is my ****ing BANE. I'm not complaining, but I can't do shit against his pressure combos.

And thanks to pakman for the negative rep. I don't know what part of my comment had anything to do with common sense, but I guess you don't either since all you did was give me bad rep.

When you find a match it shows their rank right before the game starts...

They could have made it to where you can't repeat the same character over and over because there is no real reason to do so. Fixed.

It's their fault for making the characters so noob-friendly and easy to play. It's also insanely boring facing the same 3-5 characters over and over. There are quite a few characters I have yet to see played as online...

Lag is a fact of online gaming. Deal with it.

Maybe a little here and there but nothing on the scope that MK9 has. If you are trying to justify the lag in this game there is something seriously wrong with you haha.

Re: MK9 online is horrible.

We have had about a zillion threads made about his....going to merge it.

Please use the search button next time.

~Thanks =)

*sigh* Ignore the first set of posts, I clicked and merge the wrong thread so the first few are not complaints. Grrr.

Oh. I never paid much attention to that cause it's not on the screen for more than a few seconds. I usually end up doing something else while waiting for someone, so I miss it most of the time.

They could have made it to where you can't repeat the same character over and over because there is no real reason to do so. Fixed.

I don't see it being that big of a deal, either.

Protip: If you're looking for a specific channel, just pick Create Room and then put in the one you want and it should put you in that room, assuming it exists and that you put it in exactly how the existing one is spelled.

It's their fault for making the characters so noob-friendly and easy to play. It's also insanely boring facing the same 3-5 characters over and over. There are quite a few characters I have yet to see played as online...

The game isn't even 2 weeks old, soooo... we're all newbs, aren't we? The people who play that way won't stick around once the rest of us figure out how to deal with that lame style of gameplay. They'll either adapt or quit.

Maybe a little here and there but nothing on the scope that MK9 has. If you are trying to justify the lag in this game there is something seriously wrong with you haha.

Maybe I'm not getting the same amount of lag or the number of laggy games. I've had a few, but it's only been something that seriously diminished the gameplay maybe 2% of the time, and with newbs it could just be that they don't have their connections optimized. There are a number of things that can cause lag, and they've already said they're working on it.

It sounds like the last 12 days have been all about MK for you, so it seems like the game is a lot older than it is. I know that's all I've been playing and I kinda feel that way. Just remember that it's still a very new game and be patient. They've done a stellar job so far, and all of the things you mention are either easily fixed or not a big deal.

Re: MK9 online is horrible.

A message from NRS X)

"Thank you for supporting Mortal Kombat! Due to the overwhelmingly positive reception to the game, Mortal Kombat has millions of online matches being initiated worldwide every day, and we have run into some unanticipated technical issues. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios are aware of the issues with the online gameplay – specifically with "King of the Hill" and Ranked 1 v. 1 matches - and we want to assure our fans that we are focused on resolving online issues ASAP. We have added a “Technical Issues” section to our forum so please be sure to let us know what issues you are having so we can address those as soon as possible. Users will begin seeing improvements in online play over the course of the next two weeks. In the meantime please note that none of this will impact the single-player or offline multiplayer experience, and we greatly appreciate your patience!"
