Why would it be retarded? I'd personally prefer him to still be blind, but I don't think it was ever officially announced when Shang Tsung tricked Kenshi, so it is technically possible that the events of MK9's Story Mode would render such deception impossible.

Just curious about your thought process.

That's one of the main reasons why I really like his character, because he's blind and wears the sash over his eyes. Also he looks like Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid. haha

Lol one of the view things I miss about my transition from PS2 to Xbox 360...the lack of Metal Gear. Really dug the first five games (SNES, PS, and PS2).

Back to topic, I agree with Immortal if Kenshi is not blind he would look retarded lol, Kenshi is the blind swordman, and im sure its confirmed or at least almost confirmed he is blind, because when Boon announced him he did calling him "Blind Kenshi", and he called him that many times in his twitter.

Yeah, he wouldn't be nearly as impressive with his vision. He's an incredible swordsman despite the fact that he's completely blind.

Yeah good point, but with Ed Boon's track record I'd now believe that he's not going to be blind. Everything he has said has been the complete opposite so far. :[

Kenshi may be the first mk9 character without a projectile if he is a true swordsman without telepathy powers. I'm looking foward to him for sure, one of my faves in Deception.

I doubt it, they cannot make a char without projectiles.

He can j ust throw energy like Johnny Cage or make a spark with his sword like Baraka, or he could have some telekinetic powers to throw his sword and pull it back and another telekinetic powers but only used to move his sword without lifting or pushing moves like ermac.

You guys, he is blind. He has a blindfold. I beleive there was a picture of him in some really old Gamepro magazine. I can't find it right now, sorry!

So I was thinking of some of his moves. He is going to be a swordsman, so he should have alot of sword attacks. Here is what I have came up with.

Sword Throw - Kenshi throws his sword at the enemy , it could be an arch. Not perfectly straight. The EX version would have it come back to him like a boomerang.

360 Slice - He spins around in 360 with his sword out. He spins once, unlike Baraka who spins rapidly. The EX version will give him increased damage ad he will spin normally and then he will spin lower so his sword cuts at the opponents lower body. The speed of this move is very fast.

Blind Side – Kenshi will stab his opponent in the middle body by turning 90 degrees and stepping forward with his foot. Similar to in Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance and I am sure Deathstroke had it in MKvDCU. The EX version will have him do it twice. Similar to how Jade’s enhanced shadow kick move.

Block This – Kenshi uses his sword and swipes the opponent in a circle. It hits him overhead, in the torso, and goes back and forth. The EX version will hit low and he will swipe his sword for a longer period of time.

If he gets telekineses which is highly unlikely, than I HOPE THAT HE HAS TELE-FURY. That move was beast!

I think he could be a really cool rushdown character. Keeping in close he could get some good stun moves with his sword and really string together a few brutal combos. He could use a move or two to close distance, maybe something like Nightwolf's shoulder rush but with an uppercut with his sword.

I'd also love to see one of his bnb's involve slamming his sword down through his opponent's foot, slashing the sword up across their torso, and then pivoting into a horizontal slash, knocking them back. It would be pretty cool looking and would give him a good low hit.

That could be an old render. Kenshi was blind in all his other appearances so they probably just assumed he was still blind. After all, they did get the whole Kintaro thing wrong in that article too.

Not saying he won't be blind (I'm hoping he will), just playing devil's advocate.

Haha not quite brutal enough in my opinion. If it was the spinning that made it feel like a fatality, I was more referring to a simple pivot. I'm really hoping Kenshi gets some badass basics, specials, and fatalities as well as a really pointy X-Ray lol.

IM pretty sure Kenshi is going to be bad (swear) in MK9 cuz if he waz tha bomb in deception and deadly alliance than he will be over the top in MK9

I said this before but the last rumors says he wont have telekinesis and he would be just a swordman and i hope its true, i hate copies. And makes sense because ermac is still a bad guy controlled by shao kahn so he didnt teach the power of telekinesis to kenshi yet.

EXACTLY!! I believe, and HOPE, that they will make Kenshi purely a swordsman, but also either add a character bio video or somehow show when and how shang tsung blinded him (i get that we already know, but it would be kool to see)

I think he was blind before the first MK tournament. Ermac taught him TK years later. Most of his moves in previous games involved TK, and his Deadly Alliance fatality is actually pretty darn entertaining. His Katana fighting style was pretty combo heavy too. He was one of the few post Deadly Alliance characters I really thought was great.

i have a idea for Kenshi X-ray

he throws his sword into the enemy head then he does his tele-fury(or Flurry i dont remember the name of the move lol) and then he does hes slam up and down lol

I think Kenshi will have some telekinetic powers in this game too...the only character without ANY superpower is meant to be Kurtis

The only telekenetic move i would like to see him keep is where he grabs you on one side of the room, and throws you to the other, thats classic Kenshi to me :P
And im sure they will have it to where Ermac has trained him, Ermac is technically a good guy now after Shao Kahn is dead, if you beat the game with Ermac, Jared's soul takes control of the specter.
