NRS's lack of communication about the netcode is inexcusable

When PSN was still up I found invites to be less laggy along with private matches. The just before PSN went down I noticed a nice decrease in lag wether this was parrying up with local gamers idk...
off-topic but I want cross-platform(console) online play!

Forum should be working now. At least they are doing something, by getting some data if it helps.

This data should have been received through an online beta, but oh well, to late now.

It puts them in an extra bad spot with psn users, because they have not been able to gather live data from them since wednesday.

How many times must we say this EVERY game has lag when it first comes out. Just have some freaking patience and stop being such immature kids whinning and crying like babies.

Can you name me 1 single console game that requires you to pay extra for online play (given that you bought the game new) ? exactly.

Final Fantasy XI, Final Fantasy XIV, and DC Universe all require online monthly pay, and all are available on console. I'm just stating this as friendly info...I do respect ya xplatinum, and just want to make sure facts are correct bud. :)

Despite the fact that this topic is somewhat irrelevant for PS3 players at the moment, I will say that I have noticed considerable lag in single player tag. Typically it comes when trying to chain specials into combos and trying to perform fatalities. If there is lag in single player tag, I imagine it's an overall coding issue within the game, trying to support data for 4 characters at once, which would mean online play must be brutal during tag matches.

I might just be off my game today, but I ran through twice with the same team and experienced delays in moves and fatality inputs both times. Weird.

I agree with most of the sensible comments. I dont agree with "Its the holiday, give them a break" or "They aren't even thinking about MK, they've been working on it for X years". Are you serious? Do you really think thats how a professional business works? I work for a company that produces a product. If that product fails, we cant cut off communication with the customer. Sure, this is a video game, its not a necessity that net play works but WE PAID FOR IT. The LEAST they could do is acknowledge the problem...

Justin is absolutely right...and here's why.

If Boon an tweet silly garbage about DLC Characters Fatalities...then he can tweet that a patch is coming, or is in the works, or at least ACKNOWLEDGE the problem.

Companies (NRS, WB) need to understand that we pay their salaries. I stopped supporting Bungie because they stopped communicating. Same with IW, Treyarch, and well, Activision in general. I don't want to turn my back on NRS, but if someone doesn't at least COMMUNICATE what's going on, then I'll have no choice.

I'm not expecting this to be fixed tomorrow. Hell, two months would be fine with me...but they need to at least ACKNOWLEDGE the problem.

Well yeah. But most MMO's adopt a pay-to-play model. The game also costs much less.

At least on the official forum the MK_MortalKombat dude finally acknowledged that there's a problem. So there's that.

I think it's blind and ignorant to think that NRS would have had any other intention than putting out a game that worked right away. Sure it pisses me off that because of lag 80% of the time I can't start a jump in combo. It pisses me off more that it takes so long to get a ranked match going.

However I'm not going on a witch hunt for these people because of it. I know better than to think they released this game with this intention to piss us off. This is not on purpose, and therefore I'm not demanding they come out and cup my balls while they apologize.

This MK team went so far and beyond expectations even while pretty much revealing most of the game to us. I never could have expected this game to be more awesome than I thought it was, but it still happened.

I really don't know for sure, but I'm just going to ASSUME that Boon or Hector or Han or whoever else we know by first name who develops this game has no control over this situation anyway. I can only imagine that online play is the last thing they had anything to do with. So for them to even "tweet" an apology or an acknowledgement of the fact would mean nothing either way since I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be able to fix it anyway.

However, the last real MK game they put out was on XBox and PS2, back in the stone age of online game play. Now it's 360 and PS3 where online game play is almost the only thing anyone even cares about anymore. To think that someone out there is simply ignoring it is just plain stupid.

And one last thing, yes, you dumbass, if you come on a MK forum and start bashing MK, you should expect people to defend NRS, MK, Boon, or whatever else you want to through rocks at.

How exactly are you able to access their forums? Whenever I go to TheMortalKombat.com and click on "Talk MK" or any other link that takes me to the forums, it just sends me back to the home page of TheMortalKombat.com (and yes I am logged in).

Thanks just tried with internet explorer and was able to view them for a few minutes before they crashed. Apparently the web site is only unnavigable with Firefox.
