What the magazine means is Nina. As in Nina Williams from the Tekken series. The magazine is stating what many others have as well, that Sonya closely resembles Nina Williams in the new MK.

Shinomune was pointing out the fact the name should have read "Nina" not "Nira".

I have no idea why I wrote Nira either, having actually seen the comparison between Nina and Sonya before.

Totally 100% it looks like a cheap cop out - they all got their boobs hangin out!, dont get me wrong i love boobs, and i love hangin out, but i dont wanna see that in a fighting game, id rather see creative costumes that still look sexy, i would be so much better if they started out coverd up a bit more then as they get beaten then their boobs hang out as their clothing rips ect, but i dont wanna see boobs hangin out all the time its insulting to male and females

Not gonna lie, im into the whole sexiness approach, but now theyre taking it TOO far, every freaking woman in the game so far has exceptionally revealing clothing. I liked it at first when we saw mileena and sonya, kitanas is not so bad, but now SINDEL :|? The woman is freaking old, and you make her clothes look revealing? Sorry thats just not right at all...

Yeeeaaa, it does seem a bit much, i can understand mileena having a skimpy outfit considering the whole succubus thing... but kitana and sindel?! Queen and Princess? i dont think so. Then sonya who is a special forces? just seems kind of ridiculous

I like how everyone's up in arms about the skimpy outfits on the females yet nobody's mentioned shit about them fighting in heels. They could still fight if they were completely nekkid (mostly because it would be a great distraction), but those heels would probably be more lethal to them than their opponents.

And Taj, it's not "old and used", it's "experienced". ;)
