New Scans of Sindel, Kratos, Ermac, Sonya, Jax, Johnny Cage!!!

I think that the Worrier Shrine is looking very dark. I'm loving the candles. As for Shang Tsungs Garden I hope it the Ying Yang Arena or Eclipes Arena very peacful during the day with water falls and flowers. then it switches to a water fall of blood and fire with creepy vines that grab you. I hope the water fall is used as a stage Fatality.

Because Americans are already familiar with this game, so they wanna expand the fan base where it's not so well known.

I'm loving Sindel's look, definitely looks like a gothic evil queen. Sonya looks pretty kick-ass too, and I also I don't mind Ermac's look (though he could use more red in his oufit admittedly).
 
Haven't read the comments since I'm technically at work, but I'm disappointed that every female in MK looks like a slut, for lack of a better, more appropriate term. I figured Sindel to be more maturely designed, but instead I see the same silicon molded boobs that Kitana and Mileena and Sonya's fakes came from. I'm not even complaining about the fact that they're all slutty in general -- a valid complaint -- but rather a lack of variety. Anybody feeling this way, too?

I agree, she's a queen for thunder god's sake! I've never seen Queen Elizabeth dress like that, though I've got my fingers crossed:laugh:

Been feeling that way since this game was announced man :( Seems to me Steve Beran and his art team are a bunch of 13 year old boys when it comes to designing characters. Pretty pathetic they show such a lack of variety in character design.

There is another angle to it too in my opinion. Not only do all the females wear super revealing outfits which could be argued is stupid because who would honestly wear that into a tournament where you fight to the death but there is a technical and art design aspect to it as well that I think is a huge missed opportunity for NetherRealm.

I feel with their new model damage system they could take advantage and have the characters have more extravagant outfits. As an example I'll use Sonya. I really like her design except for the shirtless aspect. I don't understand why they couldn't just give her a white shirt under the jacket-vest. It would add a much needed touch of white (that her outfit needs to be even more true to her older designs) but it would also be cool to see her have more clothes on from the start so she doesn't end up practically butt-naked by the end of the match.

Another example is Kitana. Maybe her outfit could be more assassin-like from the start with some padded shoulder guards, long sleeves and a covered stomach and leggings. Then by the end of a 3 round match she would end up looking liker her current MK2011 design. The leggings would have been cut and mostly stripped off, part of her stomach could be revealed with shreds of cloth hanging down and her shoulder pads and long sleeved arms would be gone, showing her arms completely.

See what I'm going for here. From the start of the match Kitana could look completely different from the end. As it stands now all that happens is that her bare parts get bloodied and damaged and her already revealing outfit becomes even more-so. It would be so much cooler to see them lose clothing but not be practically naked. I want to play Mortal Kombat not Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball!

This was still an awesome update though! Overall the game is looking pretty cool! :)

The stage in the first pics, with Sonya and Sindel, are the same stage. It's either Tsung's Garden or Warrior Shrine, not both (or even a third one, completely new). Also, this stage does not have candles in it. The images in this magazine are disposed in a strange way, the borders of the images are irregular and connecting with one another. So those candles are from another image below.

You can also see this at Kratos vs Jax image, with two differents pic at the side, one with Reiko's statue and the other with Rain's statue, or whatever it is. The candles at their feet make me think it's the Wastelands arena, and the statue would be different each time, with different cameo characters statues. Or maybe they are just two different statues on the same arena.
 
I'd also like to state I'm not one to nitpick, before anyone jumps me -- I have zero problem with the size of Sonya's kneecaps or Ermac's nose. ;) But this is something eating away at the back of my brain for a while, and it seems silly to see Sindel's boobs covered by mere nipple straps. It feels more like a Lady GaGa music video than Mortal Kombat, in my opinion. I'd like to see one woman dressed appropriately in the reboot, and I was banking on it being Sindel.

you answered your own statement, they are marketing the game twords the younger generation hence way to many scantily clad women.
 
Personally, I cannot wait to see Sheeva. She was easily the least clothed in MK3, so I can only imagine how she'll be dressed in this. :fapping:

Yes, but the game is Rated 17+ (in NA) therefore their "target demographic" must have a parent purchase the game for them. I just wish they would design the game a bit more for the people that can buy the game without parental consent. But I know I'm in the minority :|
