Yeah this game better be the most violent MK ever! As for Godsmack, I do agree they wouldn't fit MK. Hey lets come up with some ideas of bands that WOULD fit. You've done named Canibal Corpse. I want to throw Slayer, Children of Bodum and maybe just maybe if they're brutal enough, Iced Earth. then again, Iced Earth might not be the MK type. Feel free to come up with some bands to name to the ones I've added to the one you suggested. LOL.
 
Are you guys forgetting that Team MK had Adema contribute the main song for Deadly Alliance? Surely, they're certainly not Metal.

The MK soundtrack has always been good. Armageddon had a fantastic soundtrack.
 
I agree, the movie soundtracks were f**king amazing. and the whole sound of those albums FITS MK, imo.

Edzilla, a few of your ideas are really good, especially good online and Konquest Mode. But I have to disagree with the realism and weapons. I dunno why but I've never liked the weapons in MK:A and the realism, well. There are fighting games out there for 'realism'. Of course none of them have the MK style but when I play MK I want totally over the top crazy moves, finishers, attacks etc. I'd lose it if Jax can grow huge and stomp his enemies in MK9 and I know I'd be disappointed if all I got was a neck snap. MK to me is all about craziness, and realsim is the exact opposite. Just my opinion, still. Good ideas.
 
Well, realism is somewhat of a moot point anyway. With the exception of UFC and EA's Boxing series, very few fighting games are actually based on reality.
 
Yes, Kurtis. That's what I meant, mainly the fight night series, when I said realism but not an MK vibe. Btw, I hoope this post didn't make me sound like a wise-ass, if so, apologies.
 
I want this to be nasty like Bloodrayne 2 and God of War 3 put together when it comes to blood, gore, and generally other mature themes.

the problem with the fatalities is that we get spoiled with the super-gory mutilation fatalities that when we see simple ones then we are disappointed. When they work on the new fatalities, they need to stop thinking of the next way to tear the opponents limb off. All that is needed is to make them more satisfying.
For example: instead of decapitation followed up by a beating with their own limbs, make a quick neck slice then you get to watch them bleed all over themselves and choke for like a minute.
or perhaps a stomp where instead of their head exploding, why not bust some teeth in with 3 or 4 good stomps to the face? (you can finish that one off if you'd like)

Yeah that is true, they should make it go forwards instead of backwards. I hope that they do NOT mess with us and give us another cross over. I think it would be cool if they did a prequel you know, 500 years before MK1. I'm just saying it would be neat to explore the origins of MK prior to the first tournament. I just hope that its the most violent and brutal MK EVER!

Netherrealm studios needs to think outside the box when coming up with the new fatalities and that doesnt mean they cant play around with some blades and explosives. if they do however i dont want to see anything like baraka's dismemberment fatality in MKD which was cool but diddnt make any sense :/
 
Shouldn't we be more concerned about the actual game play, rather than what the fatalities are like?

It's going to be an M-rated game, and I'm pretty sure they will cover Fatalities. If they are not gruesome enough, then go watch the Faces of Death, or read some Punisher MAX comic books.
 
well the title is "new ideas for MK9" so i thought it would be a proper place to post ideas on new fatalities, which is in fact one of the reasons this game is as famous as it is...

About that Baraka fatality, I guess I know where you are coming from. I do understand that impaling someone at the chest with their limbs falling off right after is a bit cliche. lol I mean, it would've been better if he completely just sliced of the arms and legs first, then impaling his victim at the chest, and after that, he lifts up the impaled opponent with his blade and decapitates him/her with his other arm blade. That would've made more sense.

About the gameplay, I hope it's not so difficult as UMK3. I'd prefer something very simple and not so much of something we will need to memorize or remember well. I'd just want to press any button and combine it with almost any special move without limitations.

This is exactly what I speak about in my thread I DO NOT want to see any stupid fatalities in MK9
 
I'd like to see more violence and blood. I also think it would be cool if they made a type of mode simular to Tekken 6's campaign mode only with fatalaties and such.
 
How about Rain as Boss, didn't he absorb Blaze power after MKA or Female Sub Boss and Boss

We need a female boss and/or sub-boss!!! Someone new or any of the previous characters.

Females that would be boss material:
-Sheeva (She's a Shokan.)
-Tanya (If she becomes more powerful.)
-Mileena (If she becomes more powerful.)
-Sareena (Considering she is a demon.)
-Ashrah (Considering she is a demon.)
-Frost (She can take her ice powers to the next level.)
-Sindel (If she ever becomes evil again or goes against the good guys for some reason.)
-Kia and Jataaka (They should make their gaming debut as playable characters and work together like Noob-Smoke from MKD as sub-bosses.)
