New Characters for MK10

MK is already sexualized enough with practically every female showing considerable skin and/or cleavage, none more than that slut Mileena, plus the fact that Sonya was portrayed by a former Playboy Playmate in MK3. Besides, the point of MK is blood, gore, and violence, not sex.

But with today's generation of +18 games, characters are becoming more like sex symbols in almost all those games. So, I won't be surprised if female characters will start acting like Belladonna from Thrill Kill. I sure would be happy infact. Actually, a transvestite character is a possibility in any game in the future, which I'd definitely love.

With the sole exception of Mileena, oversexualization goes against the very tradition of what Mortal Kombat was built upon, and it takes away the franchise's very identity in the name of excessive gimmicks. The reason we invested in Mortal Kombat in the first place was because of Spine Rips, not because of sex. This oversexualization of MK you speak of is tantamount to replacing Mick Jagger with Snoop Dog in the Rolling Stones.

If I wanted to play a sexualized violent video game, I would play Thrill Kill or the original pressing of GTA: SA with a cheat device, not Mortal Kombat.

In MK10 put some hips and thighs on the women. I would like to see some "feminine features". The female character models in MK9 were too top heavy, they were all shoulders biceps and breasts. Real woman fighters usually have some nice, full, muscular thighs. All The MK9 girls were built like Michael Phelps for christ's sake! Lia Motelongo, Becky Gable, Kerri Hoskins all these ladies had some beautiful athletic figures. Why didn't they use them as templates?

For MK10 they NEED better voice actors. I hated Baraka's voice in MK9, his MKvDC voice was better. I hated Kano's voice it was too High pitched. Shao Kahn sounded like utter crap, did no justice to character! Shang Tsung(old) sounded like crap. They all sounded too "cartoony" for an M-rated game. With all the voice talent WB gets for their DC animes you would think that they could have gotten better voice actors for MK. The Characterizations just felt vapid and empty and frankly left much to be desired.

I know the whole theme of MK is supposed to be "excess" and "over the top" but at least take it moderately seriously. You can do all those things while still keeping it dark and grounded with out it turning into a "90's cartoon".

To be honest, I liked it better when Midway had control. Even though they didn't have the muscle power, financial backing or the polish, it had a level of "we take our game seriously" through making the story and characters "stand out" opposed to being just "paper cutouts". It feels like they "dumbed down" the characters and took that "sinister" tone away from MK. Each of these characters have their own motivations and goals. Especially the forces of evil! They made them all bumbling incompetant morons and took away the fact that these are/ were some very dangerous conniving characters. To Me they lost their stand alone appeal.

Thats all i got.

Speaking of voice talent, a 1980s hair band bassist did Johnny Cage's voice in MK9. It was Jeff Pilson, the former bassist of Dokken, who oddly enough kicked Freddy Krueger's ass with the "power of rock" in the Dream Warriors music video back in 1986 (that song was on the Nightmare on Elm Street 3 soundtrack. By extension, MK9 marks the second time Freddy Krueger has crossed paths with Dokken.

URSULA - Callisto's Amazon-esque personal bodyguard, no one has stood against her in combat and lived to tell the tale; fights with a battle axe and a shield capable of shooting energy blasts and consuming souls, both of which are sentient and have long since possessed her.

EROS - A pink-clad (potentially homosexual) American male ninja who uses an extremely advanced longbow equally as vicious in close-range combat as with arrows from afar; able to briefly confuse and charm enemies with his arrows.

Unfortunately, Thrill Kill cannot be obtained and GTA isn't my type of game. Anymore suggestions please?

I have an idea for a character btw. A female character with a stick similar to Jade's in MK9 but this time the stick can turn into any melee weapon (including a chainsaw) and can be divided into two to transform into dual weapons (such as bladed tonfas). But have that stick be a cylinder of gold instead. That would be awesome! That character should be Edenian.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who noticed that.
1 degree of separation between Dokken and Mortal Kombat. :)

I was hoping that someone out there would have done a YouTube video with Johnny Cage kicking Freddy Krueger's ass, with Dream Warriors in the background, but no.
It hasn't been done yet.
I don't have a capture card to do that type of recording, but even if I did (a) I don't have Freddy as DLC (I do have the compatibility pack) and (b) I didn't think that anyone else would get the reference.

Thrill Kill is obtainable...via piracy (as the development team leaked the game over the internet after EA cancelled the game), but due to forum policy, I am not permitted to speak any further than that.

Ok thanks anyways.

I do want another female character who is like Belladonna but more twisted and perverted towards guys.

I actually happened to buy a copy of Dokken's Back for the Attack CD in the bargain bin some time ago, and that one also has Dream Warriors on it.

Video capture equipment, on the other hand, is something I don't have.

If there is any new characters for the next future games how about...

- An amazoness from another realm
- An insect-like warrior... a spider (like Reptile & his saurian race)
- A barbarian from outworld
- A samurai who ventured with the Great Kung Lao since the past tournaments. He possesses various samurai weaponry and a yari as his signature weapon.
- An angel with light abilities who is the "true" champion of the Elder gods
- A dryad with plant abilities
- A white ninja with ghost-like ectoplasmic powers
- A golem with earth & crystal abilities

But what about new characters from...
- Black Dragon
- Red Dragon
- Lin Kuei
- Shirai Ryu (surviving members)
- White Lotus Society
