you need to go into training mode and train . learn all of their combos and special moves and how to use all of there tools

Going into training mode and nailing down some combos is always a good idea. Figure out which are you go-to combos for punishment (known as bnbs or bread and butter), figure out which strings (short string of hits such as X,X,X) hit low (to get under standing blockers), and which are overheads (to hit crouch blockers). From there it's all about practice. Practice in the training room til you're really comfortable there, then go through the Arcade Ladder until you can really pull off everything you want to pull off on a moving target, then go online and play. There's no substitute for human vs human matches.

If you're looking for some good guides for your characters then you can check out the guides here on TRMK (listed above) or you can check out Test Your Might. They're a bit more intense then TRMK but they tend to have more character specific information. Ermac's guide and Smoke's guide are just some of the resources available. They have entire sub-forums dedicated to each and every character as well as sub-forums dedicated to fighting style, basic gameplay concepts, and so on. I frequent both TRMK and TYM and they serve me quite well.

Hope that helped. Good luck with MK9 (it was the first fighting game that I took seriously) and good luck on the forums if you stick around. =)

For Ermac just don't do that Force Lift -----> Jump-----> Teleport------> Force push combo a lot cause so many people use it and it gets really predictable

This thread will help you self teach yourself. It gives some solid examples of how to think that you can carry over to other characters/gameplay mechanics.

Sort of a guide to help you adapt to your opponent, understanding mindgames and why some moves lead into other moves. and to start off with a good mentality.

For Ermac just don't do that Force Lift -----> Jump-----> Teleport------> Force push combo a lot cause so many people use it and it gets really predictable

lol the rest of that was unnecessary. Force lift is the only thing that needs to be addressed. Because if you land it.. you might as well go for that combo as it's easiest to execute and has high% damage output. If it's "becoming predictable" the fault lies with the first hit. meaning force lift is predictable not the combo itself.

EDIT: I think you mean to tell him to vary ways to "combo" into force lift because like EVERY string ermac has leads to that move lol. Using Force lift by itself is alright for wake ups. but not so much to just throw out unless you expect a jump at somewhat close distance. Far away Force push is better. Covers more space, and is safe at mid distance.

all in all OP, try not to create patterns :D

Predictable or not, if he manage to hit you with force lift the other hits are obviously guaranteed...you can only use breaker.
That's an easy combo to punish the opponent, perfect for him imho

Basically I just jump in their face and they always go for that combo so I block and then punish lol I'm always looking like I'm about to kiss him with Mileena

Of course you can, I have so many times it's dazziling (Ermac to Kano to Stryker to Kratos to Sub and slowly to Jade haha). As long as you have your basic combos memorized, the next step is to know how each character plays. You don't want to use the same strategy across the board, you may beat Johnny Cage and Liu Kang with one strategy, but it might fail against Sindel or Noob. The basic catagories for each character are:

Zoners - these people attack from far away and use their projectiles to keep you away. They don't typically get in your face and have combos that focus on keeping you away. Some examples are Sindel and Noob

Rushers - these people are all about getting in your face. When these people get near you, they can hurt you a lot. They have excellent combos when their close, but from afar they are lacking. Some examples are Johnny Cage and Liu Kang.

Mix-up: These people can go either way, they have mediocre abilities to do both rushing and zoning, but they aren't top in either category. Some examples being Cyrax and Kabal.

Learn which characters fall into what category, and develop a plan on how to beat them. This may be a simple tweak like less jumping, or could be a change in which moves you use. After you have a plan for these guys, you will become a muuuuuuch better player.

i have a question how the hell i beat that raiden ass i realy hate that character
i was playing as ermac and my friend cant win anymore whit scorpion so he was seeking a nother character now he have raiden
he onley doo the 1 little combo over and over again its when i try to get closer he teleport kik me end alectric fly its so anoing and when im in a corner he stay kiking my
what to do?

You and a friend can play online tag from the same console but you cannot team up with someone over Live/PSN.

Also, I hate Raiden so I'll give you some advice, You need to look for patterns from your opponent. You may not see any straight away but keep looking, it may be he will do the same 3 hit combo into the superman or he'll teleport to you from distance and try to hit a combo or superman. Once you find a pattern, it will become a little easier to counter what he's doing, the real hard work begins when he realizes your reading his moves and he starts to switch it up lol XD

k ty man i dont realy now the move names but its always the same like i teleport he block he do a kick so i fly in the air he do electric fly(super man) and then im in the korner if i dont do any ting he dont move he just stay blocking soo i try that move that i fly in the air and puch my self on the floor but he now that move soo i delay it but he stay jumping if i land he attack soo i wil use ur help thx
it wil get hard but i will take evry second to punish him i can

Put Raiden in training mode in expert difficulty, and play him for 10 minutes with no break time ..... you will feel more confident next to go online, hehe !!

XD

lol can u do that what i most dit whas practice and than stuff like blocking on dit not now of the difficult stuff
fail for me lol
