Must Watch - PowerUP 2011 Tournament

I really enjoyed this ...Hope i remember to check it out tomorrow. Need to find out when some of these tournaments are coming to the Philly/NJ area. Would love to go ...although after watching that ...my game needs alot of work :p

Needed more Jade IMO ^-^ but was some pretty good stuff though I did see some typical zone/projectile spammage. 2 Cyrax players was looking really good. The Jade player jus didn't know how to fight cyrax tho.

Its not considered spam when its part of the strategy. If the play field allows, they why not? If the opponent backs away from pressure then zoning is a must. Refer to this thread if you disagree:

AGAIN, the term is not spam its ZONE. At competitive level, if the other player is dumb enough to fall for zoning tactics, then there are some things to reconsider.

The word spam is used for non competitive players. The word Zone is used for competitive use. The two are different in definition.

Yeah there was one early in the game, he was really good but some guy with Nightwolf killed him with those glowing Green Rush attacks followed up with lightning.

Bumping for the new page. Thanks for helping the thread out Jakarta

5/1 will host the 5vs5 MK
Stream will start at 11am but just like today, MK may stream at a different time.

Hopefully people wont be blind like Vulcan Hades and miss the links.

I loved every minute of the MK stream, this game is going to be seriously exciting as the competitors continue to get better and learn new tactics. Really dug the fast paced aggressive intensity and back and forth of the matches. Would have liked to have seen more of the roster used. Loved Tom Brady's Sub-Zero. The Jade player had a few nice combos but mostly did not seem to know how to respond to Cyrax.

All in all, a great first tournament for MK and I definitely think people will start taking it more seriously after seeing a few of the performances out there today, including Justin Wong's scary Kung Lao.

Chronus and everyone that appreciated the stream so far, I just want to say thank you for watching and supporting MK at the competitive level. I enjoy fighting games and I hope to have MK at tournaments and at the competitive level.

So everyone that enjoyed the tournament stream so far, I just way to say thank you very much for watching and supporting.

In return, I will further support TRMK with future streams. This turned out great and im glad.

And if anyone has any questions in terms of competitive play PLEASE pm me, I have an open and helping hand.

Er i said zone/projectile spammage as those being 2 different things. For instance Sindel player was not jus projectile spamming he was zoning Liu kang because Liu would tear him up at close quarters and Sindel hasn't been all that much developed yet with combos that i've seen compared to say Liu~

Then you had a rare few that would jus projectile spam it wasn't allday erryday ofcourse because they would of gotten tore up by it but was still to some degree. Just because it's a tournament doesn't mean everything is considered zoning~

LOL I noticed. He somehow pulled through though LOL. I liked that Reptile though he pretty much followed up on his acid ball setups~

That Reptile was beast, can't lie. Lol @ Tim Static saying "I'm not gonna mention any names, but if you tweet me talking about how some of these players play, come out here and show what you got." He was talking about me because I tweeted him saying that Johnny was horrible. Hey I'm just being honest, and I can't make it to all these tournaments. I have to focus on school for one more month. I consider myself lucky that I'm gonna be able to attend the PDP Tournament in 2 weeks, and Evo in July.

PerfectLegend just blew up Tom Brady's Sub. Nice midair teleports to get over the ice clone, and ex teleports to mixup. :)
