He's nothing more than a sidekick of Kia, Jataaka, and Sareena (as is evident by the logo on his uniform) and a glorified Shao Kahn cosplayer.

Reiko was a beast in MKAr. I remember having a hard time against him in Konquest Mode. I've always had my ass kicked by this son of a b****

That fight was very hard! The last fights of that game were sick.

And it was very amazing when you climbed to Shao Kahn's Throne Room and Reiko stopped you.

Raiden was not the same surprise because a loading screen spoiled him, though his appearance is one of the most amazing.

Look I'm all for returning Trilogy characters since the best characters came from the first 3 games. But I seriously need to see either another new character since we haven't had one since E3 ooooor an MK4-MK:A character. Based on the select screen here, it's looking an awfully lot like MK9 2.0 up in here!

Sektor and Baraka are plenty viable. Sektor is the leader of the Lin Kuei, without him that entire plotline in MK9 loses significance. Baraka is the president/general/something-or-other of the Tarkatan horde, an army capable of dethroning Kotal Kahn.
 
From what I see the only tarkatan that is relevant is meleena. Reiko has taken barakas place in the story at meleena side. Although I like sektor. as long as a Subzero is alive he will never he a grandmaster even if he is the rightful successor. If he makes his own clan like in the other story line and do something relevant afterwards then maybe, but this story seems to push aside both of those characters.

Does Mileena have the Tarkatan vote? She may, but she may not. I'm not saying they can't tell this story without Baraka, just that there are functions he could fulfill... far more than in MK9.

No Sub-Zero is alive at the end of MK9... so... uh... he can be Grandmaster.

i had MK4 but i cant remember it like i can the first 3 games coz it wasnt as good.

whats Reikos unique moves? and how would they work in MKX with the variation system?
 
Remember the intro between Quan Chi and Raiden I think it was. Raiden says "crawl back to the nether realm" and quan chi replies "I'll give your friends your regards" Raiden, "do not mock me quan chi". I feel like this could point in the direction of quan chi's resurrected good guys gone bad????
