Multiplayer in the new ps3 demo?

I really hope the demo has multiplayer, I have no friends to play it against! Also, MVC3's multiplayer is horrible.. you can't spectate matches in progress.. is this going to be the case with mk9? I hope not.. it really sucks staring at a screen with player names for 10 minutes while you are waiting.. I can't even believe people said mvc3 was going to be better than mk9, yeah right!

IIRC, the multiplayer in MK9 will be reminiscent of the golden days - watching players at the arcade dominating players, waiting in line to challenge the winner.

I just hope it isn't online only like a lot of new demos are. I have to put Xbox in awkward areas and positions to get a whiff of the wireless in my apartments.

I too hope it is not online. But I want 2p tag team available for sure!!

MVC3 Is a horrible fighter IMO Unbalanced fighters, ridiculous characters, horrible menu's with stupid arcade voice... "ALL RIGHT, THE FIGHTERS ARE ALL READY TO GO"...ETC.ETC.

Street fighter puts it to shame. Ryu should be embarrassed to be in that game.

Actually I hope that you can't go online in the demo. If you can go online, then people are going to play it non-stop and there will be pros ripping on the noobs day 1. Offline against CPU players they will not be as likely to play as much and training against the CPU isn't nearly as good of practice as against human players.

Mortal Kombat Multiplayer System.

Resigned and disappointed by the P2P laggy multiplayer, matchmaking & lack of dedicated servers of great games like Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, etc. I'm very worried about how the new mortal kombat and the NRS would solve this issues.
I have searched and have not found any related info about matchmaking system (P2P or Dedicated Servers) or multiplayer mechanic.

Any of you guys know something about it?
Only 29 days left and I think this is a vital point for a competitive MK wideworld, and not only for a specific group of lucky people.

What do you think?

Re: Mortal Kombat Multiplayer System.

Nope no info, but I hope it's as good as BlazeBlue absolutely the best online I've ever played no lag whatsoever

Re: Mortal Kombat Multiplayer System.

I saw an interview with Boon, and he was saying that the online play will not differ at all from single player. Any combos you can pull off off-line, you can do the same on-line. Which tells me whatever they are using for on-line play, it will be good sh*t.

Re: Mortal Kombat Multiplayer System.

I played a little online MK vs DC, because the multiplayer experience was not very good.
I think this try with MK 2011 will be dramatically improved.

Re: Mortal Kombat Multiplayer System.

MK vs DC had probably the worst online in a fighter I've played. It would always disconnect, MK9 better be light years ahead of it.

Fighting game developers always claim this though. We'll just have to see once the game is released. Either way though, since there is a buffering system in the game it shouldn't be THAT bad with a little bit of lag. But it'd be hard to hit confirm stuff......

Gears of war 2 was supposed to be a lag free perfect online experience. That game was laggy as hell at launch.

Hopefully the online will run smoothly , otherwise it could really hurt the longevity of this game.

True no developer would say a bad thing about their own game. Off topic never played Gears 2 since I never finished 1 as my 360 was hungry that day and decided to scratch up my disc :'(

Ah man , that sucks. its a good game , definitly worth playing and quite cheap now as well.

Re: Mortal Kombat Multiplayer System.

Gears of War 2 is a perfect example of a terrific game, screwed with a horrible multiplayer system. But, apparently, EPIC games learned the lesson and this time will work with dedicated servers.
MK will have dedicated servers? I think not.:shot:

Re: Mortal Kombat Multiplayer System.

SSF4 online system is flawless, hopefuly the MK developers
have built a similarly solid system. The early interviews regarding
MK9 suggested heavy online gaming experience so it should be
fine.

Re: Mortal Kombat Multiplayer System.

Don't like to make assumptions but will the online games be locally hosted on somones machine? so If I start a room then the person with the best connection will do the hosting? All the hardware by platform is going to be the same so it just comes down to connection speed?

Also Hector Sanchez mentioned the local search first would be a strong indicator for this type of system rather than Dedicated server

Its all based on the connection of you and your opponent. I have a question myself I should post...
