Motaro, Chameleon, Khameleon, Rain

Out of these characters i think Rain has the best probability to be on the list and may Khameleon as well. Motaro i can see as DLC but Chameleon i think is shelved i believe. (Ed Boon mentions less popular characters such a Chameleon would not be returning. Now i dont know if he meant wont return in the new MK9 game or any installment after)

You're right but he was a secret character and he has a cool story in MK2 with being a Lin Quei ninja supporting Sub-Zero... I really hope to see him as a playable ninja character but more unique. But I think we have already enough threads dealing with Smoke...
 
I would be surprised if we didn't see Rain and Motaro, but I highly doubt Chameleon/Khameleon will be in. Maybe later as DLC but I wouldn't count on it. I just hope Rain looks cooler than he did in MKA.
 
...i wouldn't dispatch Rain yet from the original (from the day of release) roster...there's no indication besides fan's guessing that he won't be there...has it been confirmed? no...so why throw him out? i'm pretty sure both him and Sheeva will be in MK2011 as for characters like Kratos or Quan Chi - they belong to DLC section...

I think the attraction with Rain has to do with his appearance in the attract screen in UMK3 arcade machines. He was one of those teasers they dropped in there to torment fans, just like the "Kano Transformations" of MKII that had people plunking down quarters in search of them. Place the tease, people eat it up, and people crave that character as some kind of "closure" on something that was a joke to start with.
 
Until they find a way to get a four-legged character model to work properly, Motaro won't be DLC. And Chameleon was the very first character to be confirmed by Ed Boon to not be in the game, so he's not appearing in it either.
 
man, i reckon it'd be cool if they had chameleon and gave him a random move set sharing from all the ninja's each time you play,
like one projecile, one disabling, one charge.. so forth, so like one match he could have

scorps spear,sub's slide, reptile's invisibility,noobs teleport

then next time

subs ice ball, reptiles dash, scorps hellfire, ermac's teleport, etc etc etc

there would be heaps of combinations!! i reckon it would be interesting, and challenging. going into battle not knowing whats gonna come up, then coming up with new combo's incorporating diff moves.
 
As long as they do something interesting with them, I wouldn't mind. It'd be tough to come up with new ways to present characters though and eventually it might become too tough to balance. I think we're better off with Kenshi, Scarlet and Rain at first, then we'll see :D
 
I reckon Rain being on the disc or at least DLC is kinda certain oh and Motaro is definitely not gonna be playable (ed boon confirmed on twitter) but Boon never stated that he wasn't in the game so I reckon he'll have a mission/level related to him or just be an unplayable boss. Not sure about the other two but I'd be very surprised if they're in, who knows they might make a cameo?

I don't even see him as a true character. He is something like Meat.
If we talk about real ninjas I think Rain is the lamest one. I wouldn't be pissed if they leave him out because of Quan Chi in the main roster. If he is in I am ok because of his appearance in UMK3 on Sega...

ok.... well I'm a fan of both. I just wish they ahd more story. Chameleon was fun in trilogy just to play as at least, and I liked the concept cause I'm a sucker for Ninja's. I got pretty good with him in Armageddon too. I don't see why people hate on him so much.
And Rain's pretty cool. I like the Prince Purple Rain gimmick. Guess I'm a bigger fan of Chameleon.

I'd take either any day over Sheeva or Sindel or the vast majority of post Trilogy Characters.
 
Im a fan of all 4 of them. As for i really dont care much that the Ckhameleons dont make it, Motaro and Rain need to. Motaro doesnt need to be playable, but have him as an intense boss. And Rain needs to be on main roster and with a legit thought out story.

Trilogy Rain had a couple of the most original moves in MK. He's different enough to warrent expanding on, just like Noob has been. Noob had just 2 original moves in Trilogy and look how they've fleshed him out.

Chameleon I found fun to play, having to use your memory to work out what moves go with what colour on the fly.
 
Why the hell do ppl say there is no need for some kharacters to be in cuz they would be a wasted spot or just fillers? Do u ppl even watch the gameplay videos at all cuz this new technology can make everyone alot of fun to play with. Ppl who think Rain dont need to be in need to GTFO, they could make him one of those most fun kharacters in this game and as for Chameleon, he would look epic with these graphics. Ppl need to stop saying well we dont need these kharacters cuz they suck. I thought Stryker was one of the worst kharacters ever and he looks badass in this game along with everyone else. Dont judge something or someone until you see it for yourself first. Personally, the more kharacters the better. Going by the recent full select screen leak, I still want to see these kharacters as DLC

I want to see Rain and Chamelion too, but I don't want the new 3d characters from decepion, and deadly alliance. Well, I would like to see havik, and maybe kenshi, daegon, and Taven. But no one else
