Mortal Kombat Keeps freezing when Online

I'm getting annoyed by this, since PSN came back online, my copy of Mortal Kombat freezes at the start menu, freezes at the main menu when I get out of training, Story Mode, & Challenge Tower, & MOST IMPORTANTLY, it started freezing when I try to get into the online lobby a few days ago; but only when I'm signed into the PSN. When I'm not signed in, the game doesn't freeze at all.

Does anyone know what to do so I can play MK online again? By the way, there are NO scratches on my disk at all.
 
At the start menu it doesnt freeze it loads for 10 second more or less (this happens always), then if you are logged to PSN it loads for 5 seconds when you are in the main menu (this only if you are logged)

You can see the dragon logo at the bottom right corner, that means loading.
 
I mean my WHOLE console freezes, can't press the PS Home button to quit. I have to shut off my entire console. It doesn't freeze when I play any other PS3 game or when I'm playing MK OFFLINE.

Try turning off ALL social message stuff in the options. Haven't had another freeze since I turned that stuff off~
 
Ok, well I made it online without my console freezing... I just reset my Modem, still freezes my console at the start menu but I found a way around that, I just sign in AFTER I get past the start menu.
 
I had it happen on my 360 some, during offline things. Saw someone mention turning off the social messaging, did that and haven't had any problems since. Sorry to hear about the problems though, would have thought it would have fixed it. Your PS3 fairly old? Only thing I can think of, and it happen with any other games?
 
Same problem here, 80GB PS3, European version (i'm italian)...
I play with no problem except for this game...

Yeah same thing happened to me. It happens occasionally when I am online. I am Ps3 user, but since they put in the hotfix, no more freezes for me.
 
my frustrating issues that i'm having with MK online is that i just can't get any matches going. every time i enter a room and try to join a king of the hill match, it tries to load it for a few seconds and then it ALWAYS comes back with "match is unavailable" or if i challenge somebody it says it's sending out the challenge, and then it often again comes back with the "match is unavailable". i'm connected on wireless and while I can very easily get on the network and SEE all the players and matches going on, i cannot connect to anything, it always says that it's unavailable. sometimes i do make the rare connection and get into the fight, but it will freeze and then say connection lost or unavailable and boot me back to the menu.

the only solution ive found to my issues is to go ahead and make a hardline connection. everything starts working fine then, except for the unbearable lag. i REALLY hope that patch coming out fixes all of these issues.
 
I started having this problems since about roughly 2 days ago. First time it happened was when I was playing ladder to see each characters ending. I thought it was my xbox at first since I couldn't even use my dashboard button, but then it happened again whilst playing ladder matches.

Then yesterday was when it got really bad, I couldn't even enter "Xbox Live" rooms anymore, it kept saying something about checking my ethernet cable if its connected properly(I was in a party chat at the time with friends eager to play some MK KOTH matches). So I was online but the game kept telling me that I wasn't.

Its gotten to a point that I'd rather have a laggy XBL MK experience than no MK XBL experience at all. I hope they solve this issue soon cause I'm really starting to get tired of all this shit.

I was really enjoying the game as well, despite of it being slightly unbalanced and laggy. :(
