Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

This is clearly a palette screwup.
Probably the whole animation is using the first frame's palette or something like that.
Can't you output to a non-palettized format?

Hmm that's strange it never shows you as online. I'll PM you later on to make sure I've got your username right. It should be right since we've talked before.

Agreed, there will be slowdown at times, but no thought of quitting this project.

BTW, I'm on Skype every day, I don't know why you don't see me.

Update on Baraka, took me all day to figure out how to get Displacement to look right. I had to do some things I've never thought of, but at least I got it working.

Got the skin looking alright, now I'll need to set up the shaders for the rest of his costume, and start painting the textures.

If it's working right when you do it by hand one by one, i'm guessing you did something wrong when recording the action.

Try making a new action and be careful with every step, test it out, try a few changes and see which one works. It's one of those things you have to play with a little for it to work.

I made Baraka's skin yellowish to match the MK2 sprites. I got the sprite in photoshop and adjusted the base skin tone to match the sprite as close as I could.

Great to know that you are back, Bleed!
I was already getting worried, but now I'm relieved and I'm looking forward to see more of your awesome work!:)

baraka is looking great bleed, I just think his skin is too yellow or you don't have the diffuse map on, or maybe it's just me... I wanna ask you something.

I'm having a big problem making the sprites, I did everything you said, and I don't know why when I record the action to make the sprites just the first sprite (.pcx) looks good, the other ones..... well, here's an example

EDIT:

if I make the sprites one by one everything is ok, but when using the batch command, something goes wrong

Why don't you just export the images to JPG? That way you aren't dealing with palettes. Then you can make PCX sprites from the JPGs. I don't know about 3d software, but it doesn't seem necessary to make PCX sprites from it. That can be done with photoshop.

If you do it in photoshop, make your palette with one of the images, save that palette, then when you get to the others change the image from RGB to Index Color and use that palette.

Thanks for respecting my wishes and laying low for awhile despite already having been given access to dropbox. That must have been difficult. At any rate, you've earned my trust. If Bleed gave you access already, clearly he trusts you as well. I look forward to seeing what you can create to inspire people to join our team. Perhaps you can angle your video around that we are seeking talent to complete the game.

Not a problem in the slightest, man. I 100% understand loyalty issues with the anonymity of the Internet and that is why it wasn't an issue to back off. Bleed has not given me access to Dropbox other than the first time when I first requested access to it (and obviously I don't have that access anymore). If he, you, and the rest of the 'team' agree and would allow me to have access to it once more that would be fantastic. As far as angling the video towards building a team, that would not be a problem at all - and, in my opinion, is a fantastic idea.

Bleed, if you wouldn't mind, PM me confirming that this is acceptable and I will respond with my e-mail for an invite. Again, I hope this doesn't seem as if I am forcing myself onto you guys; I only want to help build on this, nothing more. And if you disagree with my gaining access this go-around, not a problem!

I'm looking forward to getting started immediately (pending everybody's approval).

Here's the displacement map added to the body, I messed with the values, it was inflating the model too much before.

The different parts of the costume have some different shaders to simulate the material, cloth, leather, metal...

Still not really textured, he's only got some flat colors on him.

Good to see you back, Bleed.
Awesome work with Baraka (not that I could expect anything less from you).
Now here's a suggestion anyway.
His head looks a tad too small for my taste, and his neck too long.
Like they're not in balance with the rest of the body.
Here's what I think it could look like.

It would make sense to give him a bigger head, because in MK2 Divizio had a big mask on. I made it more realistic size, because I can with the 3D model.

Thinking about some misc stuff, you guys will need to make some extra skeletons to look more realistic...
Some skeletons for:
Baraka (Because of the skull)
Mileena (Because of the skull)
Reptile (Because of the skull and also blood color)
Sheeva (Because of the 2 extra arms)
For the Cyborgs (Because of the blood color)
Shao Kahn (Because of the size [I think a mini skeleton wouldn't fit that well])
Goro (Because of the size and also the arms)
Kintaro (Same reason as Goro)
Motaro (Half horse skeleton half human, it would be interesting)

**Notice that i marked the Bosses, it would be cool to preform some fatalities on them hehehehe**

And also, questions about plans for the future of MK3...Why not making a human Cyrax and Sektor that have the same moves but some modifications such as speed and stuff...just like in MK9 and of coursem as a costume? It would make sence :D but well, Think about all of it

(I marked the post with colors because i see almost every post of common users are being ignored, be nice and answer to this :D)

I understand your reasoning too, but what looks a bit off to me is the size of the head relative to the apparent mass of the chest/shoulders.
I'd say the head should be roughly the same height as the chest muscles.
The model in your comparison is A LOT less bulky than your Baraka.

I agree with uKER here. Baraka's head looks too small. It comes down to how accurate are you trying to be to the original sprite from MK2?

Here's one thing I'm working on now, started learning Vray.

I'm trying to set up the skin shader before working on the textures too much.

It's for part of a demoreel I'm putting together and it's not all MK stuff, that's why I'm having staying away for a while. It needs to have some character work, environment, hard surface modeling and animation in it.

I have the actual mask if you need some good pictures of it
