Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

Raiden will need to be animated soon it seems, maybe Goro is ready for that. That model needs some work on the skin weights.

I haven't had a chance to open the Raiden file yet, but was curious @Bleed if the clothes were separate geometry from the body, that way I could apply cloth simulation to his movements/animations.

Um, sorry to disagree, but I think that's far too much. :/
Overall, the motion in the original is much more subtle, and most of it happens on his feet and his left shoulder.
I'll send you some stuff via PM.

thanks john timbo! hope it serves so that these great characters are carried out.

Pretty sure he was referencing Arqs work, not your edit. At any rate, I think you nailed Arq it. But UKER has a good eye so please take into account what he says before calling it final. I'm happy with it though. That twist adds the right amount of energy to it.

EDIT: I LOVE the subtle wrist twist you've got going on in there. I have to say Arq, for a guy just starting out with animation, you learn really fast. The cloth and hair animation looks better than I ever thought it would. I hope you can one day share you hair modeling method via screen capture.

Whoa, that was appreciated.
My sincere thanks.

I'm trying to help arq_hawkin via PM put some more tweaks into the animation.
Hope he is still up for it.

I have some very important news for you all:

During the past 6 months, I've been working with Bleed, Justin Slaughter, MrMos3s, Interloko and others to form a game development studio dedicated to creating Mortal Kombat in HD. I'm happy to announce that Eyeballistic Inc., has signed contracts with and will hold the rights to all of the incredible work you've seen so far.

This is the first very small step to having the game legitimately published across multiple platforms. I have reached out WB and NetherRealm but have thus far been ignored. I'll be attending E3 with a live demonstration of the game (@Interloko any chance I can receive an updated build by Sunday before I leave?) and I will be attempting to setup meetings with WB/NetherRealm staff to gauge their interest. I may not succeed right away but eventually we will get through to them. This project will eventually be too big of a deal for them to ignore it.

At that point this project will go one of a few different ways.

1) We will be shutdown and told to stop working on the project immediately.

2) WB/NetherRealm will work a deal offering their support to release our game on several platforms. In a perfect world they let us borrow one of their programmers in return for a certain percentage of any profit the game makes.

3) WB/NetherRealm buys all of our assets outright and keeps them to make the profit from the game themselves.

4) WB/NetherRealm gives us a price for how much it would cost to purchase the Mortal Kombat license. We would then raise money (Via Kickstarter) and sell the game on our own under the Eyeballistic, Inc. label.

5) They continuously ignore us, because they simply can't possibly make enough of a profit via licensing or through partnering. We continue to make the game and it is one day 'leaked' as a torrent. This sucks for everyone. WB/NetherRealm don't get paid, and we as creators don't get compensated for all of our hard work and effort. Fan's of MK are left to feel like criminals while they attempt to download the game. Although it is free, it'll only play on the PC platform.

1 or 5 are most likely. By establishing a corporation and hiring the great artists behind this project to the team we are attempting to avoid the missteps of other community projects such.

Why bother going the legitimate route at all? Simply put, money is a motivator. If everyone on the team were being paid, then they could devote much more time on this project. The fact that we've made it this far in 18 months later is an incredible achievement. I know that I'm playing with fire in attempting go the honest route here, but unless we can start providing people some motivation to complete this project, we might not finish until years from now if at all.

That being said, if anyone has inside contacts to WB/NetherRealm, I would really appreciate you sending them to me. Hopefully the best is yet to come. I will try to continue to treat this as a community related project. If/When WB decides to back us, we might very well be required to have this project 'go dark' until completion. I'm putting my company and name on the line for this project because I believe in what we are doing here, so please keep supporting us with your encouraging words and well wishes.

Liu Kang is looking much better now!!

@Calactyte, when you say contacting NRS letting them know about this project, it could very well cause them to shut this down. I do understand the motivation created by having this a paid project and that otherwise it would take years or never get completed at all, but still it sounds like a big risk. Well, good luck anyway. I hope things work out. Of course also maybe NRS's lack of a reply is there way of looking the other way, letting this project slide under their legal radar. I don't know. I just hope this doesn't get shut down.

^This sounds great if it all goes well, but I'm interested have these EVER happened to a fan made game that's using someone elses intellectual property:

2) WB/NetherRealm will work a deal offering their support to release our game on several platforms. In a perfect world they let us borrow one of their programmers in return for a certain percentage of any profit the game makes.

3) WB/NetherRealm buys all of our assets outright and keeps them to make the profit from the game themselves.

This is a legit question, because I don't know. If someone can name a project that ended up well, that the company actually allowed progress and participated in some way.

Unfortunately, I know few of these:

1) We will be shutdown and told to stop working on the project immediately.
Streets of Rage 4 and My Little Pony fighting game first come to mind. The latter was even voted for EVO or something like that, before it got cease and desist.

I am honestly emotionally attached to this project, even tho' I don't have skills to contribute much to it or be part of the team, I'd be the first to throw money at kickstarter if all goes well. Good luck guys.
