Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

Looks really cool, I added the breathing animation, but faster and you can see it a little bit better. It's not much but I guess it adds a little touch of realism.

He's got the 256 color palette with the blood swatches on it, and the sash is color separated. I made a few palettes for it, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow and Orange.

You must be very happy with the level you got with Cage. all looks great! Very well done.
I think that skills and work flow you got this time other characters are going to look fantastic. Thanks for share the progress.

Yes, about Johnny Cage.. I think Raiden in the first MK movie said it best.

"Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant."

He actually looks cooler to me now in HD than he originally did in the game for some reason.

Hi guys! You are doing a great job!! its amazing the way those sprites looks! better than the original ones!

I just saw the last pic with the background (Bleed's page link) so i have a question, will you make them more "alive"? i mean they look great but not depth and perspective as the Sprites. Its just my point of view and nothing else. Are you going to try to recreate the old background in HD quality or even give them more quality as scrolling ecc? For now it look like a HD pic for background.

Great job guys!!! can't wait to see the rest of the characters!

The backgrounds won't be anymore alive than they were in the original game.

Hi bsglover, the stages are already coded by interloko (there's probably some tweaking left to do, mainly Goro's Lair) You can see how the HD stages "behave" in this video:

It's very true to the original MK

edit: Just watched Cage sprite test video. That gold/yellow belt MUST be his alternate/mirror match costume. Great choice for a colour, looks perfect!

Looks awesome! But why are they moving really fast? I seem to remember Sub-Zero was moving slower in older videos.

That looks great.

The rim light looks amazing too, but now the ninjas look like they're missing it :| Not really consistent.

Yeah, that'll happen... I'm learning as I go, so each new model will probably look a little better than the last.

I may render the Ninja sprites again in the future, I'm not going to worry about it for now.

Re-rendering with a new lighting setup would be the solution, pretty sure of that, I mean as far as materials/shaders go, it's spot on. Really no critique there. Even Cage looks much less plastic-ish than before, and the animation is excellent. I just don't remember their fighting stance being looping so quickly, though.

However, I agree. No need to worry about this now, as long as the other models are going to follow the same style, the ninjas could be re-rendered again at the later stages of development...Heck you could just go the alternative way and edit every sprite in Photoshop, but I'm pretty sure that will actually take more time than re-rendering...

One last thing I forgot to mention...MK9 character models look like a joke compared to this quality.
