What do you guys think of putting original SFX in first, and then gradually replacing them with new ones where needed? Maybe there's no need to replace every single one (like footsteps, blood splashes etc). @interloko, what do you think about this, is it too much work?

I have a fear that putting in new sounds right from the start could potentially result in a complete mess sound wise. But maybe I'm completely wrong. Just a thought.

Well we'd certainly need to keep track of everything. I'm not against it, but I'd really like to have all new sounds given that we are going in this direction with the announcer. We have blood sounds, falling down sounds, jump flips sounds and some special attack sounds. All the music is redone.

Anyone want to try and imitate the sounds contained in this zip file?

You need a decent quality microphone, preferably a condenser mic. Taking your mic and laptop into a car and driving out to a place where it isn't too noisy works best. A Car actually acts as a pretty good noise cancelling booth.

Guys, we will have some events like this in final version?

Why not use the original sounds? Somebody think it?

Question: The secret character hints like this reptile message from MK1 or the Smoke/Jade messages in MK2, there wasn't anything like that in MK3/UMK3 was there? I don't remember. Seems kind of strange to not hint at hidden characters.

MK3 and UMK3 had some hints.

Ultimate combat codes and the Dragon icons in the select screen. Rain was in the attract mode of UMK3.

The secret characters could be fought when you beat the game, if you select a certain prize.

For Cage, I'm working on Facial morphs now, and modeling some teeth.

I had a hard time fixing the center of his Shorts when doing the splits. If the crotch is low, like normal. You get like a V shape when the legs split, Instead of more of a W. I see why you don't see too many characters with baggy pants in that area.

I tried a bunch of rigging tricks, but ended up going with a morph as that seems to work the best.

I added some bones on the side of his hips, so the belt doesn't go in to his thighs when he does the splits. I can pull the belt up out of the way.

^Yeah, MK3 in fact had one of the most obvious hints;

and it appeared more frequently then MK & MKII stuff, if I recall correctly.

@Bleed, nice. Can't wait to see how you handle his facial expressions.
He had a lot of those, I think he's the most expressible character in MK1.

MK3/UMK3 didn't have characters dropping in before the fight started, the way Reptile did in MK1 (and Smoke/Jade did in MKII).
This feature was brought back in MK Trilogy, though, for the Nintendo 64 version. In there, Khameleon, Human Smoke, Shao Kahn, and Motaro all dropped hints.

Right I forgot about the smoke portrait. That tells you how often I've bothered playing MK3.

@Interloko

Have you begun to get special moves, the rest of the music and fatalities into the game? Just wondering what you are focusing on right now?

Hey guys, just wanted to drop in and say that I have been incredibly ill recently, which is why I've posted so few updates. As soon my health gets a bit better I'll try to jump back in. I'm actually kind of excited about working on the SFX.

Keep up the great work!

Hey guys, just wanted to say that I haven't post anything because I rigged liu in max 2013 and in my job I got 2010, and I've tryed everything to install max 2013 in my job, I got this week trying to install it and I always get this F.... Error, Max failed installation and there was an error installing .net frame network, or something like that, I've tryed everything, uninstalling, updating, updating windows, copying max to the computer, cleaning the registry, turning off anti virus, just everything, and nothing works, and I got so much work in my house, I'm going to bed every night at 2:00 a.m and waking up at 7:00, so I just got time to work on liu in my lunch hour and thanks to this beautiful error I haven't do anything this week, anybody knows how to fix this? I really need to work on this guy
