hello every one, this is not an update a 100% but I just wanted to let you know liu kang is rigged, FINALLY....... there is a problem with the eyes but I will fix it.... what ya'll think

Wow nice work on the shoulders. Looks ready for animation to me. Tough to tell without actually getting into the motions but you nailed the shoulders in my opinion.
 
Yeah good to see Liu Kang. He does look ready to go. Try some animations, maybe his fighting stance and we will see just how ready he is.
 
He looks like he's taking a dump on the first 3 pics lmao... just kidding, this looks really promising. Keep up the good work. If you need any animation from the original game in correct size for this project (stance, moves etc.) let me know. Something like this, if you need it for reference:

I always assumed Liu Kang broke your neck when the move was done.
The thing about Liu Kang not killing anybody in MK1 was done on purpose. He's a good guy, a hero who can defeat an opponent but doesn't want to kill. He's the only character where the screen doesn't go black during a Fatality. John Tobias recently talked about it on On Blast web show. Interesting stuff. Then again why call it Fatality in his case, and what about him uppercutting people on The Pit? Guess he's not such a good guy after all, lol.

what you say makes sence... but just in mk1 cause in mk2 he transforms into a dragon and you know what comes next hhahahaah and tranks for your comments, I think the facial animation doesn't have to be perfect cause he's face is not going to be a 100% visible.

last thing thanks for the sprites... really helpfull

Something about his face seems odd, probably the nose & the eyes. (or maybe it's just the perspective)
if you can, please compare it with these pictures.

the dorsum of the nose is not curved, the tip of the nose is bulky.

Excellent work !!! I'm so excited by this project, it will be a great game !

About improvement of your 3D model, the original Liu Kang seems a little younger, due to his big head and his tiny body. You can also try to add him some hair... He almost wear a wig ! (70' stylin')

2. Why is Calactyte worried about clones and compiations if project is to be moleboxed?
3. Can we get Bleed to do a quick mockup of Ermac MK1HD for fun and hype?
4. Will CPU Scorpion AI do his Teleport punch move in this game?
5. Are the individual members of the team more interested in MKHD1.5 or MKIIHD?
6. Will Kanos eyeplate switch sides when he jumps over opponent in this game?
7. Was Ult MK3 for saturns source code used to code this game?
8. Where do the values for the velocities in this game come from?
9. Is CARZ Frozenworm?

1. It's probably too early to tell what will need to change. Our game will likely run at 60 FPS instead of 52 FPS like the original but I'm not 100% on that. Our game should have a few extra frames per animation but not too many to drastically impact the fun of the game. Pretty much every detail of every element is the same as the original but in HD. Sub's freeze fatality will show him freezing the neck for a moment then ripping the head off and the animation will be specific to each characters fatality instead of a reuse of existing upper cuts (i.e. Cage, Sub).

2. Because nothing is 100% safe. People will screenshot frames..or build programs decode and pull all the data they need. There is no way of stopping it.

3. Unless Bleed wants to, I'd say no. Ermac wasn't a real character from MK1 and he is way busy actually creating and animating characters for the game to worry about that right now.

4. I can't see why not even though he might not have in the original. You could mark that up as a slight change.

5. I personally will sit out MK1.5HD It doesn't interest me. I'll be working on the backgrounds for MK2HD as soon as we can.

6. Yes I think so. Same as the arcade. Otherwise we are forced to render HD sprites for all his moves twice depending on which direction he is face. It would make no sense to do that even if in reality that is what probably should be done. I don't want Bleed or someone else wasting time doing twice the work for something so small.

I guess you could look at the uppercut into the pit as an accident. *Bam* "Oh s#!*, sorry buddy!" "ahhhhhhhh!!!" *splat* lol
 
I'm moderately interested in MKHD 1.5 I suppose. It would depend on exactly what the scope of that project was, which is a bit in the future anyway. I'm pretty keen about MK2HD though, since that's my personal favorite MK. :)


One thing that I am interested in is discussing the re-use of assets from the original game. This is a pretty important topic to me, because in my view, it will be the sole difference in this project resulting in a legitimate game, as opposed to just another MK Mugen thing. I can't really take any of those "games" too seriously since they are basically hobbled together hacks of actual games. I really want to take this game seriously, and I want others to take it seriously as well. And I feel like if we can say that we made this thing from the ground up that would be a huge stride towards that goal.


I realize a lot of people are leery about changing the sound effects and voices and such, but I believe whole heartedly that good re-creations can be produced, by me as well as any others who would like to contribute. I feel like if we just use the old stuff, it will seem like it's because we "couldn't" make our own. I really think the pros just out-weigh the cons here. We may lose a bit of accuracy or authenticity, but we will have something that we can say is our game, with every tangible asset created by this group, leaving only the IP, an idea basically, being borrowed. Also, if we could accomplish that goal, we really would be a legit indie game studio.


It all just depends on what's more important to you guys. Playing a game that's almost our creation, retaining totally aural accuracy, or playing a game that is totally respectable as our creation, but opening ourselves to the notion of a few differences here and there.


This is something that's been on my mind a lot recently and I wanted to bring up, but I'm not trying to make a big stink about anything. I just want to see what you guys think.

...oh! You meant the user CARZ? Yeah, that guy was mean! Plus, he didn't know how to take a hint! He kept asking questions about changing the game when it was made clear NUMEROUS times that that wasn't the type of project you guys were working on! Then he starts cursing people off because they told him he needs to start listening and give his ideas a rest?! Screw that guy!
