Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

It's looking much better, but stiff.

You'll need to play with the curves more, the motions are missing a sense of weight and fluidity.

Can you see what I'm saying, I know it's hard to notice some times.

Track the motion of his upper left hand for example, and notice how it moves almost straight from point A to point B.

You need to bend the animation curves to make that hand go in more of an ellipse. Maybe you need to get the upper arm moving right first, then his forearm, then his hand. Don't have too many key frames either, like 4 is good for a circle.

Think about the weight also, you know the bouncing ball exercise. A ball on the end of a string swinging back and forth. Whip motion, where the next part in a link will move a little later.

Send me the file if it's too much of a headache, I'll take a crack at it.

All except Scorpion, Reptile, and Sub Zero are roughly in the 5% - 20% range of completion

Scorpion, Reptile, and Sub Zero are about 95%, 80% and 80% complete respectively.

Stages:
Courtyard - complete
Palace Gates - complete
Throne Room - complete
The Pit - complete
The Pit Bottom - complete
Warrior's Shrine - complete
Goro's Lair - was this one completed?
 
IIRC, I think Goro's Lair had some problems with proportions, like skeletons and skull on the floor look way to big in relation to characters (even compared to the original game) I can't check it out on my phone right now but I think there's an issue. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. So maybe Goro's Lair could benefit from few touch-ups.

Ok Bleed,

I took a brief break from Goro to build you the Intro Bio Studio Environment. You can find it in Dropbox root folder. The file is called: BIO_STUDIO.max

Let me know if you have troubles opening it. You'll have to combine it with the characters/ Scorp+Sub and add materials/lighting. Will be cool as the last animation you do for Scorp to get his BIO with camera motion working in there. Probably very challenging but at least you don't need to build the environment now.

Keep up the good work fellas. I'm going to put work aside for a bit tonight and try and finish the touch-ups to Goro Lives and his battle plan portrait. I'll keep you posted.

Also, does anyone have any objections to me using Mortal Kombat HD: Kommunity Edition as a placeholder name for the game on the progress page? I realize, of course, that nothing is 100% final by any means, but I thought this would be a decent working title for the game.

I was wondering!! I'm using 3dmax and vray as renderer but I don't know what is using bleed or calactyte so maybe at the end all te characters will have different lighting, how can this be fixed? Maybe using the same 3dmax file for all the remaining characters, what you guys think?


The name sounds good to me too! Maybe at the end of the credits we can have a picture of all the contributors in a column like mortal kombat trilogy with this sort of black hole in the backgroun, I don't know if that's changing the game too much, I mean it because bleed or calactyte can be anyone because thats a name but a picture will be kind of better I guess!
 
I'm using some basic lights and Mentalray.


Basic 3 light setup, Key, Fill, and Rim lights.

Also a Sky light at a very low setting, so nothing is totally dark.



Preview Render of the Throw, it'll be a while before I finish, this one needs a lot of work.

Oh damn, it looks way better than I expected!


52% is too high though, the characters require a lot more than stages, It's closer to 25% I think.

I like that list we've been posting with the different colored text. It's easy to see exactly what's going on.

I could use the list, at least for characters that have animations started.

If they aren't ready for animation, or if the animations are finished, don't have a list.
