Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

I'll get back on this, I just get bored and am easily distracted. I have a lot of trouble staying focused on things to completion.

About critique, it doesn't bother me at all. I'll do what I can with it and eventually say okay that's enough, moving on. It's generally when I feel that after trying for a while, I can't do any better and I'm losing interest.

I only got on Skype today and tried to reply to you but it didn't work.
I talked to you on Facebook not an hour ago though.
Thanks again for your greetings, man.
Fortunately I got to have a really good time.

Now that animation is looking sweet. I can't compare it with the original right now, but I don't see anything wrong with it right away.
Nice work!

My god, I lost track of this project a year ago....it is AMAZING what has been designed here, the Sektor art, that LIU KANG goddamn

amazing work, guys.

I love the Liu Kang model, having said that, i have to ask. (And i really don't want to sound like a ) do his muscles will look exactly like that in the finished sprite? Like, the way they react combined are looking a little bit rubbery. Is there a way to add some effect that'll make it look like it's reacting in a natural way?

I'm sorry, i'm a little bit drunk, i haven't slept and i'm not american, so i know my english is not sounding very good right now.

Fear not.
His muscles don't look like that in the actual renders.
Probably some shape keys not being applied to the preview.
Arq will be able to explain better.

I don't understand what you mean to be honest, that animation is not rendered, that's just a preview taken from the viewport, that means no lights no shadows, no shaders, no hair, no nothing! LOL

this is what he will look like

Liu looks great. Few things about the pose look wrong to me though.

His right leg needs to be bent more so that is foot is almost touching his left leg's inner thigh. His torso and shoulders need to be bent toward the camera a bit more and his neck should be craned forward a bit more. His right elbow should be tucked back a bit as well.

I agree with calactyte on the right leg needing to be closer to the left one.

Additionally, the upper torso should be more horizontal, more leaned back.
As a result, he perceived height of the sprite should be much lower.

I'd also try to make his neck more shrugged so that his head looks more sunken between the shoulders, and tilt his head a bit sideways towards the camera, so that more of the top of the head is visible.
Then, I'd move both elbows closer to the body.

As an end result the pose of the upper body should look less "broad", less spread if you like.

Finally, I'd point the right foot a bit into the camera so that it doesn't look so long in the sprite.

If I get the time I'll throw in a GIF later today illustrating these comments.

Imo flying kick seem be rigid in a simple term. The perceptive in chest, imo, is wrong cause in this case is up, when in really the back is some stooped a bit. The difference with this example and the original pose, is that is the stomach ´s zone is more inclined towards to the area of the right leg. It's like the stomach, ribs and abdomen are bent to one side. Anyway is a test.

I was about to post that.. I was looking at that Kotaku article and thinking... Hmmm... that scorpion looks familiar... That's always something you risk when you post previews on the net... That they'll be reappropriated by someone else.

I like how someone says, "Which MK game are these from? They look fairly high quality compared to what I know."

I want to experience this game before I die....

car accidents and other random fatal occurrences happen pretty often

Statistically, I fear I won't live to see it finished.

My luck is just not that good.

I just saw that Kotaku link, as well, then came here. I hope it'll inspire some of the folks here!

I like how one of the comments says it's likely cosplay. haha

Can you blame them? Those are some of the best CG render animations I've ever seen. When I watched one of the WIP videos on youtube, I first thought "Looks pretty nice for some dude in a costume". When I learned it was CG, my mind was blown!

Hell, I made this account just so I could say that to those who make the graphics: holy shit, guys <3

Work on Sonya then. I'm sure molding some breasts, and posing a woman's figure will hold your attention :). Great work on the models by the way, only a few characters left and you can be done with the remake (characters, as I assume that is all that your up to creating). Keep up the spectacular modelling work!
