I had seen it too, and yes, definitely a masterpiece.
BTW, that's EXACTLY the way I'd think the fabric in Liu Kang's pants should look and behave.

I think that first arq_hawkin, Liu Kang should finish and then get to make a 3D stage.
It's just an opinion.

I think the animation looks good.
The speed is a little funky (the jump is slow near the ground and fast at the apex, instead of the other way round) but I guess that's corrected in-game.

I'd only remove his head tilting to the back just before he lifts off.
It also looks like the head is tilting a bit away from the camera (to his left).

Good work on the sense of weight at the hands during the fall.
I do think however that the fingers closing on the left hand as he goes up is a bit too apparent, and I'm not sure about the right wrist flexing downwards as if it became relaxed.
I think if you match the right hand's position to the left hand (minus the bent fingers) it will be fine.

I said it was a good idea, but I didn't say I would stop liu kang animations to work on the stage :P

@ yes I realized about the head when the rendering was over, so that's something I will fix for sure
 
BTW, did you do something to the pants?
The motion looks toned down, and they strike me as moving less in this animation than in the crouching one.
I would have expected them to flap upwards like crazy at the start of the fall.
They're looking good indeed (I guess you didn't loop them yet).

EDIT: Note that I made a couple of edits to my suggestions in my previous post so I wanted to make sure you read the updated version.

Yes uker, I did fixed the pants material to react more like Bruce lee pants on the video, I know you would be talking about that animation for the rest of year if I wouldn't have fixed it, LOL, no creas que lo digo por mal brother!! You know I really appreciate your comments cause everytime they are just spot on!! I also fixed his stance, and will fix the other animations with this new settings, for now I will be just working on animations, I won't make sprites till I finish animating, I wanna get all the animation done by January if god will!!

Tomorrow I'll fix the things bugging you and any other comment that might pop up

It's frustrating when someone points out something wrong in something you did and you don't see it that way.

Personally I'm pleased with the improvement.
Looks much more subtle.

A:The goal of this game is recreate the original Mortal Kombat as closely as possible with upgraded HD graphics and a new, hi fidelity Soundtrack.

A:Yes, it would be awesome to go crazy and make an HD version of Mortal Kombat with lots of upgraded mechanics, new characters, new stages, etc. That however is not the goal of this project. Perhaps in the future...

I like his fatality anyway. It's unique and fun to do on the pit.

I just wanted to chime in and say this project looks and sounds (dat music) amazing. My most wanted upcoming game for sure. I'm assuming it's 60 fps right? The original arcade is like 54 fps but in some emu's it can be upped to 60 and it plays smoother.
 
Are you talking about refresh smoothness or animation smoothness?
If it's refresh, almost all games run as fast as your monitor can refresh.
If it's animation, I wouldn't hold my breath.
In 2D games you rarely ever get one frame of animation per refresh cycle.
 
Mugen most likely uses VSync, which would lock it at the monitor's refresh.
In any case, I don't imagine it being restricted to anything lower than 60 Hz.
