Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection Patch Due Early December

Right there is not much else actually. The single player offline experience is pretty good, it's mostly a few emulation glitches and online play that needs fixing.

As true as this is, I would like to know what they've actually "fixed". Yes, the offline is good (not perfect or even great, as opposed to what was advertised), but in the modern world, the online scene is today's arcade scene, so if the online still sucks, I will be seriously disappointed.

And in all honesty, all of the offline issues are things I can overlook. I don't care if Scorpion speaks in complete sentences as long as he moves fluidly while I'm playing someone on the other side of the country.

i think we can safely say that the money isn't why they make games.

Money isn't the ONLY reason they make games, but I guaran-****ing-tee that it's a major factor.

Sweet! I do however find it amusing how certain folks seem to think that there aren't many things to fix/patch.....If they didn't notice very much, i get the impression that don't really remember the arcade versions of these 3 classics. Just saying......

Soon after Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection was released with a some issues making the experience less than ideal a patch was promised. Well the wait is almost over because according to a Twitter post from from NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon a patch is due soon. Ed said the release is currently targeted to be "around Dec. 6" but also adds it's not a firm date so it's safer to bet that we'll get the much anticipated patch in early December.

Another Tweet that Ed posted shines a light on the time it takes to put a patch out: "Testing, submitting & approvals is a LONG process." From what I've seen in the various community forums a lot of a fans were unaware of these processes and were being impatient with the patch taking longer than a week. Video game development (up to and including patches) takes lots of time and money. We should be happy that NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games saw it necessary to make things right, this is something Midway seldom did even with their major Mortal Kombat console releases.

I don't mind being patient waiting for patches for unforeseen bugs but when Scorpion's 'get over here' cuts out halfway through and Sub Zero's ice projectile loops you'd have to agree that these are things that should have been extremely easy to have noticed during production. Really, these problems are glaring and so easy to notice that anyone with a passing interest in the series could have noticed them on their first play-through.

A patch should be used to fix problems that pop up after the game is released. It shouldn't be used to finish an incomplete game.

Well yesterday was Dec. 6th and guess what? There is still no patch. I'm a loyal fan though, I'll be waiting.
