I wouldn't say never, but the chances are very slim at this point of time.
Midway/NRS hasn't released a PC version of MK since MK4. so the odds of MK9 coming out to the PC is indeed slim. Why slim at this point in time? what happend ?
Midway/NRS hasn't released a PC version of MK since MK4. so the odds of MK9 coming out to the PC is indeed slim.
And from a business perspective, it may not make as much money as they would hope.
He's been real cagey about it in twitter lately though saying there is still no plans.... and saying stuff like "noobde: RT @MKWarehouse @noobde obligatory tweet asking for PC version Noobde: Currently no plans for PC version. But MAC version..hmmm?" Which to me sounds like he's just yanking people's chains.
So right now the only announced upcoming MK game for PC is the kollection which is already on the PC in some form or another.... and if it's not HD and doesn't have a scanlines\overlay function it's better played in something like MAME.
The chances that they release a PC version are A LOT fatter than back in the days of the PS2.
Once the Xbox360 version is made, they basically got the PC version done too since it's the same architecture.
It's all about videocard/soundcard compatibility and getting the online play to work with the right partners.
It's just that this costs some money, right? So they've got to make sure that they will sell enough copies on PC. Based on the sells on consoles, the chances are good.
The chances are even better since the game's got online play and people need to buy the game to play online. Dev's like that way of forcing people to buy their game.
The chances are a tad bit slimmer since the game's got quite a lot of stuff offline too so that will make for more pirated copies of the game.
I personally give it a 75% chance that NRS will do it.
Super Street Fighter IV didn't appear on PC (to this point) because, and I quote "PC piracy"

Very ill informed, SSF4 is coming to PC infact SSF4 AE and SFvsTekken is coming to the PC

Piracy is quite big an consoles too, infact half my mates who have MK9 have the pirated copy, wasnt MK leaked two weeks before release on the consoles?
I on the other hand can proudly say I have not one pirated game on my PC... actually ever.
I hope for one toothough I'm actually collecting to get a ps3 just for mk. how cool is THAT?
but anyway, piracy exists on PC a lot but then again this game WILL sell for sure, plus people WILL wanna play online too and get DLC packs so.. it's a safe bet they will profit from this a lot even if they lose some of it to piracy. better than not releasing it though and zero profit from a pc release. certain games really attract online mode too and mk is one of them so my bet is they won't be losing too much on piracy. it gets boring after all to depend on friends to come over or play vs the AI all the time. mk needs to be played online too
get your ass kicked and vice versa. Boon said no pc plans right now, the only straight answer via his twitter, but E3 is near. who knows, maybe?
I was aware of SSF4 maybe coming to PC but I could not find anything that outright stated it. Even so, SSF4 came out April 2010. It's basically been a year and a month since it came out. And no MK wasn't leaked two weeks before release, that was just a rumour spread around. And I'm not denying that consoles do not have piracy, because they clearly do, but the ratio of piracy is the highest on the PC and that's what keeps profits down for PC versions of games unfortunately.
Save up some money, and go buy a console.
