In the “behind the scenes of MK11” video, Ed Boon already confirmed Kronika as the final boss, and in the UK stream when Shaun Himmerick was being interviewed he confirmed Geras as the sub-boss.
I’m actually glad that they didn’t go the One Being route and decided to do something different with regards to the final boss.
No, I actually meant for the ultimate boss of the MK universe. I'm very excited for her to be the boss of this game, but I meant to say that, if there is ever going to have an ultimate boss, it must be One Being.
There's no way Shinnok will be playable in this, and he looked very NPC in that prologue trailer; he had that kind of under-finished, rough quality to him that Fujin did in MKX.
Exactly and unfortunately (but maybe fortunately for the enrichment of his own story, who knows). And yeah, Shinnok's face looked a little bit unfinished. His texture in MKX looked waaaaaaaay better. I wish they at the least gave him a better look. Looked like his texture didn't load at all.
You can't play as a character that doesn't have a head in the first place.

Unless, as Commander said, they pick up Shinnok from a previous moment in the timeline. But tbh, I have my doubts about the Elder Gods and time. You see, if Shinnok's absence is what almost purged all evil to the point where goodness is greater, wht don't the goddess of time just brings Shinnok back? Maybe that's one thing she can't do, who knows.
As Shinnok said himself "I'm of no realm, you know".
Still, I'm glad they are giving him a proper space. Won't have my hopes, but if he's the one needed to exist, who knows if they actually don't have to reconnect his head to the body so he can do, you know, evil things.
