It isn't the matter of engine being used. It could be done on Unreal Engine 3 as well, but the thing is, it would be a technical nightmare and waste of effort. Making Frost a premiere skin would require the same amount of work as making a new character. Moveset included. You can't apply male animation skeleton on female.

Wanna know why females looked manly in MK9 and Injustice 1? That's how it looks when you apply same skeleton for both chars.

They would have to redo hit boxes, moveset, facial animations.... just make whole character at that point. It would be really stupid decision to make her as a skin, if it requires that much effort.

Weren't motherboxes NRS loophole / excuse for Injustice 2 during that whole "lootbox" fiasco, though?
I'm not condoning motherboxes, just wondering.
 
I do hope we return to the usual krypt format rather than have something akin to motherboxes regardless if they didn't use real money.
 
If there is a Konquest mode, I hope they combine the Krypt with it. Like have an elaborate shop somewhere were you can buy armor for certain characters, art and maybe even alternate stage music.
 
I am actually worried about Krypt. I hope they won't bombard it with "gore boxes" or some shit.

I REALLY hope the gear isn't randomized in this game. That was such a pain in Injustice 2. Having a helmet drop and every part of it is perfect except it doesn't have the jaw piece you want. I hope once we unlock a piece of gear, we can swap it's details without having to worry about luck.
 
Abilities being locked in Injustice 2 bothered me even more.
I hope that we don't have to go on an endless grind-fest, to never be able to unlock a specific special move or beter-burn move that should have been there from the start.
That shit bugged me more than the gear sets.
 
It's hard to say how they handle the gear and custom variation systems, as they are a lot of different ways to do it. We'll have to wait and see, personally I hope all the custom variation moves are unlocked from the start so we can mix and match, and then just unlock gear as we go.

Eh. If they will make it so that you can't buy them with money, then they will bypass that shit.

If I were to think like a corporate greedy f%cktard, then I would do it like this.

Introduce "gore boxes", make them completely random, by making sure that you have a very low chance of getting gear for your character, then proceed to sell the said gear on Steam. Don't wanna grind? Here. For 5$ you can have this amazing suit! With all the colors.

You're talking outta your ass :lol: MK9 models didn't have the same skeleton for both sexes. In fact many characters had different skeletons irregardless of peepee or vajayjay. And I'm 100% sure Injustice would be the same. Women looking "manly" have nothing to do with the skeleton.

They can reuse animation on different characters. It will look like shit, that's the main problem, not the Engine. So unless they have time to manually adjust the animsets for new skeletons, it's simply not going to happen. Hitboxes/hurtboxes are being driven by the skeleton.

Raiden Silhouette with a countdown. Scorpion will probably be tomorrow. I'm hoping they don't show Shao Kahn on Wednesday. I don't really see the point of a countdown and silhouettes if they do. Fingers crossed for at the very least a Sub-Zero silhouette

Yeah 7 hours, but there's gonna be some filler. They're gonna hold a tournament, have a DJ play some shit nobody wants to listen to and apparently have a live stage performance.

1. I made skins for MK9 characters, which required me to import the models STRAIGHT from the game, so I could see textures. While working on multiple models, I put them together and found them sharing most of the measurements. The only difference in skeletons was the size. The only Unique skeletons, there for Goro, Kintaro and Sheeva. Once I applied Johnny Cage body on top of Sony Blade I saw that the only difference in skeletons is that female ones are slightly thinner than male ones.

2. All male models (except Goro, Kintaro, and Sheeva) were the exact same. Once again. That was seen by looking at them in 3D Max.

3. While I did speak in general terms by saying "same skeleton for both females and males", the difference is so small, that if you take away all minor resizes, you can easily see that skeletons can be put in two groups. Male and Female. And the only major difference between female and male skeleton is just that female skeleton is slightly thinner. In short. Aside Goro, Kintaro and Sheeva everyone shared copy paste skeleton. Even Shao Kahn's one has same proportions as let's say. Liu Kang. Only difference, is that the overall size was increased.

So no. Many characters didn't have different skeletons.

Nobody said anything about engine causing that problem. I said, that they would have to readjust entire animation to fit the model. And now with the tech they are using, that's extra work as they have advanced face mocap.

Which you have to place according to the body/skeleton.

So basically you came calling me for talking out of my a$$, but you said absolutely nothing to support that claim. Gotcha.

And if they will be using Unreal Engine 4, then that's in my area cause I use UE4 for work.

Man... Even with the filler, 7 hours is a lot. They are probably going to show quite a bit. Hype levels slightly going up.
