Alongside those emails, there was this....

Didn't know if I should list the site or not, but it's dated April 2018. Based off the style, it fits with the style MK11 seems to be going with. Plus, check out her arms. It looks like custom gear. The jacket that's covering up the OG Sonya clothing looks like an option too. Maybe even the other way around.

This is all speculation coming from me. For some odd reason, Sonya looks like she could be voiced by Ronda after seeing this model....

PS, don't know if any of you remember me but I see some familiar names popping back up. To another MK. :top:

I didn't say you said anything about E-Sports. I just wanted to point out, why it could be very well an MKX 2.0.

Based on what? If they are making gear system, then it takes time, if they are planning something long term, they have to create a sustainable platform for long term activity. It could be MKX style, but with expanded content. Many possibilities.

Of course I could be wrong as well, because I base my assumptions upon this info, which might not even be correct.

Damn, she looks nice. This definitely looks like MK11 model. If compared to MK11 trailer. And this does resemble UE4 render, rather than UE 3.5. Way smoother.

Based on the previous games and their development cycles.

Sonya looks great, way better than the shit we had in MKX. Reminds me of MK3. I like the exoskeleton/hydraulics as well.

Yeah, so much for "passing the torch." :D

Hmmm... this universe Sonya and Cage are getting older and older... what to do... oh yeah we can use different timelines and shit. Oh there is magic as well. Oh wait we could just apply real world science about age reversal and just advance it a little bit in the game, giving our characters longer lifespand, etc..

Yeah MKX Sonya... was just, no. I liked her default outfit though.
 
Hmm, I can believe that Sonya image (much improved over her MKX look - her face in MKX was rough as hell), and combined with the rumours about that MMA star voicing her, it feels weirdly plausible. Also, from the alleged e-mail leak, I noted it mentioned 'Towers of Time' - we know from the trailer that time will be a big factor in this game.

I dunno, I'm usually very sceptical of such things, but so far... it could well be true.
 
I'm still taking it with a grain of salt, but I must say, if this is fake this probably one of the best MK fake leaks I've seen in a while (retail leaks non withstanding). Also damn, if that really is what Sonya looks like then I'm all for it (the cyber-gear is a little iffy though, feel like that works better with Jax/Jacqui, then again that would depend if they make the roster).
 
Damn, if this is real, she looks so sick. I may believe it's real, not only because of quality, but her hair, headband and top are totally Sonya inspired at the least.

She looks young tho. If this isn't a time-travel-multiverse-flashback-something-nice-like-this, I would say it could be a very nice model for Cassie.
 
Yeah, it'll be to do with the time concept they have in MK11. That'll be Sonya from the past... or whatever they're doing with the time thing. An alternative present, maybe.

I find the entire time travelling concept lame, considering we already had different MK-versions as costumes before and the time travelling shtick began with MK9 anyways. Sonya does look older in that render though so fck knows what's going on.

It also makes me think that they're gonna use time travelling to bring back dead characters.
 
The original timeline is destroyed since it was mention that Shao Khan wipe it out. I guess there is other alternate timelines that could exist.
 
Time-Travel would be kind of an inaccurate term to describe whats happening (atleast from how its being presented so far) its more that its different timelines seemingly being crossed together, perhaps with just the old timeline or with multiple alternate histories.
 
It's because they refuse to let go of that first generation of fighters, and so they need to arbitrarily shoehorn in some sort of plot device in order to keep them around.
 
Yeah. Sonya, Cage, Jax and Kano should be NPCs at most. I don't recall a lot of fan requests for those 4 anyways.
