More Free Speech Violations

Doubtful it'll work. Anyone who's ever spoken through a PA's used to that effect. For every 1 thing the Japanese make that work brilliantly, there's about 99 ideas that should just have stayed in the rubbish bin.

Teachers are the main audience here.......

For some reason, I find it rather funny.

On a related note, I wonder how the Japanese view freedom of speech, if the concept exists.

Americans wrote the Japanese constitution, though the right to free speech was carried over from the Meiji Constitution. Actually, I would say there is greater legal protection of liberty of expression than in the U.S. Constitution, as the Japanese constitution expressly forbids censorship, though in general the rights enumerated in it are largely worded the same as the U.S. Constitution.

The perception that America is the only nation with these civilities is a flawed one that I see regularly here in the U.S.

It wasn't my intention to imply that freedom of expression is exclusively American, though I should have chosen better words. Anyways, thank you for the clearing things up.

Oh no, sorry if you thought I implied you meant that; no. It's just a prevailing attitude that I hear overall.
