Hmm one thing about IMDB is that they put a lot of rumors up that turn out to be false so just take things with a grain of salt. They're good on having trivia and stuff on movies once they are already out but before hand is another story.

Yeah agreed. I hate sounding mean over something like that, but the studio is def gonna want someone younger and more attractive for the part of Sonya. Sex appeal means more profit. So far, the only actors that I think will make it from the webseries are the ones who played scorpion and jax. Possibly johnny cage and Raiden unless they choose better actors.

Same here, plus the he can pull off a badass Russian character very well, like in the undisputed movies which would be a really good match for smoke since he is also Russian.

In MK9 it was revealed that Smoke's real name is Tomas Vrbada and that he is from Prague.

I never saw that on the game or completelly forgot but why did they make him look asian on his alternate costume then?

No news. I really don't know what's the problem now. They said they will launch the movie in 2013 but we all know that is impossible. I heard somewhere, but I don't know if it's true, they have some budget-problems.
I can't understand Warner Bros. why they are waiting with the movie and the low budget I heard first (about 40-50 Million $). They did a Green Lantern with a budget for 200 Million $ and seriously guys... I don't think Green Lantern is better-known than Mortal Kombat...
And the longer we wait, the longer I think Kevin Tancharoen is not the right director. My opinion is that Mortal Kombat should be done by a director like Zack Snyder. You just have to look at Sucker Punch, 300 and Watchmen...

Its funny, the longer I wait, the more skeptical I get over the movie too. Its like i hope that it wont be cheesy or have bad acting but have a gut feeling that it will. I really wish the guy who directed the raid was doing it. He may not be a fan like Kevin but at least we would know we would get a well done martial arts movie out of it.
