I think Cyrax and Sektor weren't named Cyrax and Sektor before they turned into cyborgs. Maybe after Hydro(the guy) turns into a cyborg they call him "Cyber Sub-Zero" because he'll still freeze people and junk and was Sub Zero's friend like the MK wiki said.

Just a thought I have seriously no clue.
 
I'm thinking if he ends up being cannon, he will be older sub zero's physical body.

Best theory I've heard so far.
 
It could possibly be a dream sequence (Dream Kombat) in the story where Sub-Zero gets changed into a cyborg for a duration of time in that cyborg laboratory we heard lupinko talking about, but I have really no idea where they are going with this. >_>
 
Cyber Sub-Zero is a nice idea, but something else that sounds interesting is the hidden fighter in the Brotherhood of Shadow achievement. I doubt it will be Quan Chi since he's in the game as an unlockable, so I have my hopes high for Reiko, although Sareena seems like a more logical choice.

Hah, we managed to make it about two days before someone decided to post one of the spoilers in a thread title. It must be a record lol.
 
So, with these achievements, we now know that...

A cyborg version of Sub-Zero will be playable
Brutalities and Babalities are also in the game
Either Reiko or Sareena are non-playable fighters
Quan Chi is an unlockable fighter
There will be 25 starting characters, 2 will be unlockable and Kratos will be under the DLC section
Friendships are also in the game (based on "Ultimate Humiliation" achievement and "Finish Him?" achievement)
Mileena has a quite a bit of costumes
There are 4 hidden non-playable fighters in the Arcade Ladder
