Li Mei the Sarah Connor for MK11

Since Kenshi & Bo'Ra Cho and Tanya.

I wish for Li Mei to be a part of the next game.

I can see her as MK's Sarah Connor. Not with muscle, more like a strong determined fighting woman.
 
Never understood the appeal of Li Mei. I liked her story in Deception but I'd rather have more focus on Sareena and Tanya.
 
Never liked Li Mei. She's the Asian Kung Fu girl arche-/stereotype that I don't care for, so I would rather have alot of other MK characters appear in MK11 before Li Mei is considered.
 
Liu Kang got the only cool move she had, so i doubt she will ever return. I don't want to see cameos for cameos either
 
The funny thing though, is you look at Li Mei and you'd swear she came straight outta Japan, but she's an Outworlder.
 
If they gave her some cool moves and alts. I am sure they could work wonders for her and make her a very interesting returning character. I rather her fall in love with Kai than The Dragon King. That story arc was just god awful it would have worked out better if it was Tanya she would have been a good match for Onaga.

So, what you want is scratch all things she has and replace it with new stuff, then why keep the name?

Oh lords no! I'm glad Tanya backstabbed him to take the power of her own in her MKD ending. She's all about survival... seducing Onaga to get her will done is one thing, but to actually have them shipped together is another. Besides, Tanya and Mileena already seems to have a thing going. :P

It is called retconning and yeah some things about her has to change for her story to work in MK11. She already seems like a more likeable character now from the MKX storymode.
 
I was perfectly content with Li Mei's cameo in MKX and I will continue to be content if she makes more cameo. As of right now, i care for her to be a playable character. Like [MENTION=17726]Noob-Zer013[/MENTION] said, I would much rather see them focus more on Sareena and what path she would take now freed from Quan Chi's control.
 
I remember this topic back on MKO, I hated it then, I still hate it now. Why is it the Terminator that people think would be great to see concepts of it in this game?

Anyways, Li Mei doesn't need to be anyone from another series other than Li Mei herself. What they did with her in X was fine enough. In fact, a lot of people happen to like this cameo. Does she still have a future with Mortal Kombat? Maybe, depends on if the developers have any intentions to keep her as a fighter. But for the love of god, they don't need to take a character from a popular sci-fi action series and turn it into an existing character now that they're adding personalities to them for once.

Not to mention, this makes no sense. If you're referring to Sarah Connor from the Sarah Connor Chronicles, I can't really say anything because I've never seen it. But if you're referring to Sarah Connor from the original series, Sarah doesn't really become a "strong determined fighting woman," until like the middle half of the second movie, and I wouldn't really describe her as that. In the first, all she does is run and rely on Kyle Reese to get rid of the terminator. And even when he fails at that, she kills it by crushing it in a machine, she really didn't do anything except press a button/pull a leaver. And in the second, she's in a mental institution/psychiatric ward or whatever... This doesn't sound like a personality I would want to see Li Mei. If you want to describe a character for Li Mei, I would have chosen anyone else but Sarah Connor. And it's mainly because, as Xenon said, neither has anything in common. Li Mei doesn't really do anything except help her people to enter Earthrealm for asylum after Mileena started rampaging through her village. She doesn't even really fight.

Surely, she can become a fighter in the next game by maybe having to become a fighter with help from the Special Forces. But that's not being a Sarah Connor. Neither are alike, sorry.

One thing I always found to be a major plot hole was Li Mei being a citizen rather than being a warrior like her backstory from Deception had shown. She was trained by Shujinko and Bo Rai Cho yet she fought like she was Art Lean's apprentice. If they bring her into MK11, they need to tell us why literally 16 years after the year Deadly Alliance occurred (I believe was 7 years after MK4) Li Mei still acts like a Syrian Refugee in MKX. Also, when did she have a race swap cause she wasn't speaking the same way she was in MKD.

It's called "retcon". Plus, "alternate timeline" also has something to do with Li Mei not being a fighter.
 
Well remember in Terminator how Kyle Reese came from the future and impregnated Sarah Connor of her future for John? Well perhaps a new hero from the future who wants to save the realms from the One Being.
 
Mortal Kombat is not Terminator. Would rather want NRS to try and come up with a more original idea than just copy the idea from some movie.
