To be honest, I'm a little disappointed by some of the new characters, namely the Special Forces guys. Expecially when one of them has variations of Scorpion moves. I mean, we have Scorpion with three variations and we still need someone who has a spear??
Also, when they announced the game, I liked the dark, gritty setting and was hoping for a total wipeout of the old imagery and then heading in a more mature direction.
But, there are still talismans and bullsh** like that.
However, I'll still buy it and enjoy the hell out of it, and I am surprised to know that there are people who won't play it and just watch the storymode on youtube....

Because this world is populated by mindless, soccer-playing fools, that is why. People that can't think further than the simple characters like Wolverine, Ryu and Scorpion. That's why interesting characters like Tanya and Sareena don't stand a chance.

MK playing guys are afraid to touch the lady characters anyway, because their mighty male-soccer-beer carriers are at stake then if they play some female characters...
 
I am a passerby and a less hardcore player than many on this board. As an ermac fan, i count myself lucky to see him as often as i do.

My rule of thumb is that if they didnt appear in the first movie or the first two games, i really shouldnt be expecting to see the character in a given upcoming game. This especially applies to characters as the games get newer. The newer the character the lower the possobility of return.

Actually, MKX has always been announced as a game about generations, so, despite the ironic kontent on "MK: families", it's not a surprise.

Besides, characters like Takeda and Kenshi are obviously different. NRS won't make equal characters.
 
I think the problem is the amount of Earthrealm aligned good guys. We nearly doubled the size of Special Forces, while leaving a bunch of baddies in the trash can. It's one thing to be family fever, it's another thing that the next generation is entirely made of Special Forces and White Lotus relatives.

Doesn't matter if it was a surprise or not, we're allowed to dislike something even if we knew it was coming.

I like nearly all of these charaters individually, they all seem to be well done, I just don't like the balance of Special Forces/White Lotus vs rest. Good guys being revenants or possessed or fighting to test each other or on a missunderstanding, that's not satisfactory. I want more Shang Tsungs and Kanos and Quan Chis plotting evil shit and being ruthless.

Nobody ever said you weren't allowed to dislike something.

But mentioning like we were deceived, or hating a game that is not even full revealed, in some ways of exposing it becomes annoying.

We dont even know exactly what we are fighting against, so the true face of evil is not completed.

Of course I agree that the balance of characters is surely heavier on "good", and specially because the completely evil guys are quite few.

But sometimes it becomes nonsense all these complaints for something we haven't seen at full.

Imagine they revealed us only Quan Chi, Kano, Kotal Kahn (without mentioning anything about him), D'vorah, Reptile...we would surely be asking where the hell are the good guys.

It's a matter of perspective.

I watch and play soccer. Watched every single game in the world cup but i have a very good taste when it come to mk. so you mean people who watch baseball have better taste
 
I'm a girl, Its probably in my nature to dislike soccer/football/whatever sport you guys watch, but in my experience soccer-watching guys I dated were pretty dull and one minded about what they liked, also if we played MK 3,4 and deception, always going with the obvious choices.

Maybe you are special, or maybe I should date more soccer-guys (if that is possible)

Ridiculous discussion, to be honest. It's the most popular sport in the world, with an estimated 3.5 billion fans, who apparently have bad taste.
I'm guessing Sonya Bland once met a couple guys she didn't like and found out they watched soccer, so it's scientifically concluded they were all bad apples.
 
Wow. This actually makes me kind of want to play as Jax. Johnny is looking pretty cool too. Sonya... not so much.
 
Every saying Johnny looks old but this game does skip around 5,10,15,25 years .. Kang was 24, Sonya was around 24 and Cage was 29 in the original Mk game. So ofcourse 15 yrs later he might have wrinkles. ..this is older tho so im sure he looks better now , check the story mode trailer he does look younger

it's not my way, the fact they please the same fanbase in every game is a fact. having said that, I never mentioned craptaru, drahcrap or craprius having any shot at potential, only Havik and I'm not even that big of a fan of his, I just realize he does have potential from post mk3 chars. also, go take a look in other MK forums, lots of post mk3 chars are in demand, few examples being Fujin, Reiko and Tanya
 
I agree with some of the other posters about Jax in previous games: to me he's come across as a bland, throw in sort of character, albeit with his own personality/style. Was just never much of a big fan, but didn't mind him either

This Jax model looks pretty bad ass though. Would love to see him have an even more unique personality/position across the mk-verse (Yes, I know, he's already unique in his own right)
 
Let's pick up Kenshi as an exemple.

Possibly "leaked". How people reacted?

Those who liked: "Good, Kenshi is back"; "He looks awesome"; "Loved the new beard"; "Possessed?", etc.

How people who disliked acted:

"OMG KENSHI AND TAKEDA ON THE SAME ROSTER WHAT A WASTED SLOT" (considering Kenshi and Takeda have different movesets)

"OH NO ANOTHER GOOD GUY" (ignoring possessed)

"OH CRAP KENSHI IS PART OF SPECIAL FORCES, I HATE THIS GAME FULL OF SPECIAL FORCES" (*sigh).

And about the good guys. Yeah, looks unbalanced. But what sort of good guys people are expecting? Special Forces and White Lotus are the major "good" organizations throughout the whole franchise. Even bigger than Lin Kuei and Edenian Resistance (character presence).

And couting for real, Cassie, Jacqui, Jax, Sonya and Johnny (arguably) are SF. Takeda and Kung Jin are obviously working TOGETHER. Kung Jin is White Lotus and Takeda is Shirai Ryu. And Kenshi we don't even know what's up with him.

And the bad guys are not clear yet. My point is: April 14 is the day.
 
Yes, and you probably are such a person who thinks Ed Boon doesn't dislike Rain, even if he's not in MKX playable?

If Rain isn't playable in mkx , that is all the proof I need, he has every reason to be in MKX, and still he will not be playable, dum dum dummmmm why is that?

Right, because mr.boon hates him and never gives him a good chance in the main roster.
