Yeah, whilst I'm happy to see Transformers, and Alien V Predator 2, and new Shrek and so forth, this doesn't need re-visiting, so yeah, I think this is far scarier than the Fly.

What's even scarier than all of the above is the fact that Mr Hasslehoff could be in this movie in some capacity. Oh and dude, click Here

This SUCKS. They always ruin original an thing by updating it. They should have kept Kitt the way he was.

This movie is sure to suck. Original>new. That show was one of the greatest shows ever.

Wow, looks good, but as Jade said....the original was awsome. I might see it to see how it turns out though.

Unlike some people, I don't pre-judge things. But I do have one problem with that poster. I am not liking the car [kitt] at all. :-/

If Kitt does not go insane and start killing things in this movie, I will riot. God knows that car needs to do some revolting for all the crap he's put up with. Go Kitt, gain a will!

It's different when people are true fans. You don't want to see something you grew up with and loved get ruined and changed around. I love 007 movies and hated to see anyone but Sean Connery as Bond. Regardless of how good the new actor was, it still isn't Connery. It still isn't original. That's just how a lot of people are when it comes to something they love.

Most die hard fans of things don't enjoy change so of course they will pre-judge it regardless of whether it will actually be good or not. They see the new changes and wont accept it. The original is always #1 and updating things usually does ruin it.

Who would have thought it possible? You and me finally seeing eye to eye on something. I totally agree with your above statements, Jade. However, I am a big Sean Connery fan as well [bet you didn't know that?], and as such, I also am loyal to the orginal Bond movies starring Mr Connery. Infact, I have them all on DVD. But I also like Roger Moore's take on the Bond role. He was great in the lead role as 007. To me, both of those actors portrayed the most famous British Secret Service agent not only brilliantly, but also with plenty of pezazz. The same can be said of countless updates on movies, remakes and series. Most of them in an effort to be modernised or just completely remade is not such a good idea. But Hollywood demands it. Remakes are big business. Michael Bay is remaking so many Horror movies, that it's rediculous! His new company "Platinum Dunes" is remaking the original Friday The 13th for starters. Then he's moving in to other projects. And while I will see these remakes. I will always hold the originals close by.

But it's the old saying: "The Original & The Best". That applies to Smiths Crisps as well ;-)

A prime example of this is the new Mortal Kombat games. As opposed to the orginal old school classic MK. I fall into the clasic old schooler group. I found that change from the 2D realm to the 3D realm painful, yet inevitable. One must move forward in order to keep with the times as it were. In this day and age living in the past as far as Movies, Games and Music as well as many other things is not Vogue for the most part. I grew up with many things such as classic Tv shows. I love them to death. But most have been remade and of course I pre-judge. I have to, it's only human nature to expect big things from one's favourite show being remade in the new Century.

Knightrider is one of those shows. But like I said before, I will not pre-judge this new film. I will simply see it with no expectations. If it sux, then we still have the original show. If it's good, then that's even better.

I actually really enjoy Pierce Brosnan as Bond, I just can't get away with not thinking "this guy is good but he isn't the original. No one is Bond except Connery". I just don't like when the character is the same but the actor is different. It bothers me. It's like making Superman black. Not that they can't do it but then he wouldn't be Superman anymore.

I know that movies remake things to appeal to today's generation but you will always have the old fans with something to say about it. For this particular movie, I heard they want the main character to be Knight's son. I hate that idea and hope it doesn't fall through. I would love to see Hasselhoff return. He doesn't look old like Stallone does (not bashing Stallone, he's one of my favourite actors but he clearly shows his age where Hasselhoff doesn't) but they want a young actor to take the role because they want it to appeal to younger fans who probably don't want to see an older guy starring in a movie. They want a young actor with a new age car, which sucks because Kitt was awesome in his original form.

Same with Miami Vice. I used to watch the original but no young person wants to see Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas because they are considered old washed up actors but older people who grew up with the show would appreciate having the original cast and will naturally compare the new actors to the old ones.

No matter what, it's Knight Rider so I will see it anyways. I hope I am wrong and it is good but I will always hold the original higher.

I'm looking forward to the new Knight Rider, but the new rendition of KITT is indeed bothering me.
(Please forgive the petrolhead babble, I am a carfreak after all.)

In the original series KITT was a 1982 Pontiac Trans-Am Firebird wich was customized by George Barris himself. This has invoked a true classic image of Micheal Knight's supercar.
Now I can understand the need to update the style of the film.... but why oh why did they have to choose the Koenigsegg CCX as the new car ?

Now don't get me wrong, I love the Koenigsegg.
It's a helluva machine. But let's not forget that it's also priced at $644,589 / €510,000 !!
So they went from an affordable American sports car... to a "No Chance In Hell Unless You're Bill Gates" machine from Sweden. (No offense to any Swedish members.)

I just don't see why they can't keep the image of KITT somewhat closer to the Trans-Am.
