Kitana Revealed!

OMG i'm in tears. I just watched this and the other video posted on MK's Facebook and i want to play it so badly. So, Kitana have Jade's staff now. And lots of her fans moves looks like it could be switched with a sai. I'm sure Jade won't be on this game or others, and starting to think Mileena will get killed in the comic too.
 
I'm curious as to why she has Jade's staff - I presume she's dead. Not only that, but how bloody amazing is Kitana's moveset looking? She has a parry now, and her combo strings are awesome.

Probably that's is one of Kitana's variations to honor her dead friend, Jade. I'm kinda sad, cause i love Jade, even though i knew she wouldn't be in this game, it makes me think she is gone forever.
 
I hope Kitana has a Jade alt, or at least has a green outfit with tan skin... then I can at least pretend that I am playing as Jade. XD

To be completely serious here though... I think it's an odd choice to give Kitana the staff. It's like NRS went dry for ideas to Kitana's Variations, so they just gave her someone else's fighting style, in this case Jade's.
 
I completely agree with you, I don't think Jade's staff suits Kitana AT ALL. I'm hoping it might be a Tower mission or something. We never know, Ed Boon and NRS are sneaky like that, this could be one of their tricks.

Or she could be inspired by Jade.
 
Just saw the video with Kitana using Jade's staff...wow, I don't know how I feel about this. I wonder what that variation is called but I want to know. I hope it isn't something corny like "Jaded."
 
Kitana doesn't need to be 'inspired' by Jade, Kitana is her own character, a Princess of Edenia. I thinks it's pretty unfair if she has an entire variation based on Jade's staff, that's like giving Scorpion a Sub-Zero variation because they ran out of ideas.
 
Just realized that if you look closely at the start of the video during the dialogue between Kitana and Cassie, you'll see that her hair pins are glowing blue. I assume this is for one of her variations.

Honestly, as for Cassie, it's hard to say that she's well modelized :/
the polygons of her head are too obvious, her face (especially the jaw part) is too boy-ish, the hair looks like an helmet...
NRS should try to hire some people from Namco or Team Ninja in order to learn to modelized female characters :/

Honestly, the proportions and details (hair, eyes, mouth...) are far better on the 2nd picture.

Yeah.

1st variation: The Kitana we saw on her debut trailer, with her mask and fans;
2nd variation: Kitana with her mask and Jade's staff;
3rd variation: Glowing pins and without mask.

Yep! I'm super excited for the stream, I wanna see all her variations in action, what they do & what they specialize in. Hopefully we also get to see her X-Ray & full fatality.

That's because the 2nd picture is based on anime which is Japanese cartoons. And cartoons are usually very unrealistic when it comes to representation of female beauty. Which Dead or Alive indeed is all about.
 
I can only imagine Kitana and Jade combined in MK9. It would be a REAL powerful character. Though, i'm sad for Jade. I think it means she won't ever come back.
