A reboot isn't always bad. Take the Dark Knght trilogy for example - It trumped every Batman movie ever. And MK9 didn't screw anything up, it just made MK better.

first of all sr. this topic is the whole forum? it´s a discusion that fit for say negative criticzes to ed boon and previous mk titles ,if you are not agreed i am saying, why are you still post to me?, take easy ignore my posts or not?

1- Yes if ed boon not troll the mk sense or that mk means, im not saying make it i like wanted to be, only say that ed boon use more coherence. The stupid ed boon going to use mk legacy ideas.................... are you so ´fn blind? imo several users here stop at nothing to imagine that BoonMK is good, only your head is an idea "play play play play play" i am not trying to change your minds, im saying him is ´fn up the thing in mk.

2-Ed Boon need jhon tobias ´s influence, i would try to get more this style, not like the stupid style from voguel or the stupid gooskie.

Batman Begins and TDK; Sure, I'll give you that.
I couldn't stand TDKR, AT ALL.
I'd take Batman and Batman Returns over TDKR, any day.

Better?
In the sense of gameplay and the classic MK1 thru UMK3 characters getting a good revamp? sure.
In the sense of story? Nope.
It just convoluted the story even worse by killing off more than half of the main roster, and now possibly having to retcon some of that shit in MK X.

Perfect example, pass by the "Let's discuss possible SubZero storyline…" thread and read through the different theories of which Sub-Zero is in MK X.
Your head will spin.
 
I also think we have had plenty of fan service games it is time to start progressing the story again if I want to play mk-mk9 again ill play them I dont need 5-6 more Mk games being the same people again and again

You know, looking back at your forum posts I can see that some of them are written out pretty well, while others require bringing in an expert to translate for us. I don't buy it, Londohellgate.


As for reboots always being a bad idea. Wrong. Rebooting Mortal Kombat was the best thing they've done in years. It brought back a stunning number of MK fans who had given up somewhere around Deception and Armageddon.

Yup.
Armageddon was the down point, and I'd even wager that MKvsDC wasn't as much of a step-up as Midway wanted.
Thankfully by going back to its roots and being bought out by WB, NRS (formerly Midway) now had the resources to properly do an MK game on current-gen systems.
With each game getting seemingly better (from MK9, to Injustice and now to MK X), MK X is on the right path.

Also, people b****ed about MK9 being too "cartoony" (which I never understood), and now that MK X has a darker vibe and better gameplay mechanics, people STILL complain?
I guess the saying is true; "You can't please everyone."

And its an alternate time period now, with new characters and stuff happening that wasn't expected. Like Sindel and Cyber Sub-Zero.

You didn't understand nothing last time or if you don't know MK storyline, so in more detail

-Two timelines are supposed to be exact same before MK1 and then branching to classic & MK9 because of Raiden's actions
-Any retcon that touches life of MK character in pre-MK1 period does not make any sense
-In Original timeline, Mileena was alive most of those 10000 years Kitana is old, as in Tobias story they grew up as sisters and shared personal bond. THIS is the basis of Mileena/Kitana storyline, Mileena's jealousy, their subsequent interactions. If you tell me this is wrong you are either troll or ignorant

in Tobias story.
-At Original timeline Kabal was a thug to the very end (until the near-death experience caused by Shao Kahn invasion caused him to -temporary- switch allegiance, and he was done with it by the time of MKD). In Original timeline Kabal is essentially a character with evil allegiance who had very brief heel-face turn. In MK9 he stopped being a thug long time ago, before Shao Kahn invasion, without Raiden influencing him obviously that happened before MK1 events too. This is another uncalled retcon.
-If we are going by your false logic of "Raiden got message during MK1 because of this everything BEFORE MK1 gets changed and alternate time period", then how does it work? Raiden at MK1 tournament getting a message and because of this it turns out that
1)Dinosaurs didn't die out,
2)Switzerland won World War 2,
3)Johnny Cage became african american,
4)Quan Chi never had any baldness,
5)Stryker was fired and Pedro was hired,
6)in this time period Bo Rai Cho is always slim and not a drunkard? Wowww Raiden's message caused "new characters and stuff happening that wasn't expected". Sorry your idea of how alternate timeline works sounds very ignorant and/or a troll attempt

The thing about the complaints for MKX is that they are mostly coming from butt hurt purist fan boys who despise change. So I'm not too concerned with it.

Too i want say to everyone that wants ignore to me that:

Do not forget to put bad netcode, infinite combos, Hsu Hao, Mokap, Kreate-A-Fatality, plotholes, Quan/Scorpion favoritism and other special features that MK games and when silently approved as will of boon, MKX will have as well, " on the ignore list and be done with it", and then pretend that MK is ever-perfect game even when it's MKvsDC because you can just ignore DC half with your oh so powerful ignored skills.

What does Hsu Hao, Mokap, Kreate a Fatality and MK vs DC have to do with MKX? You are talking about terrible characters, a terrible game and a terrible game mode. But that has nothing to do with the current state of the series. You have every right to be pissed off over those things. Most MK fans hate them as well.

Your hatred for MK9 and MKX, however, is insane.
