Injustice 2 Media and Discussion Thread!

Then you understand my predicament. I grew up with the 90's TMNT cartoon show which was goofy and cheesy as hell, meant for children to sell toys, as most kids cartoons were back then. So the idea of them initially being created as mature content is pretty alien to me.

Have you seen the 1990 movie though? Because that was dark just like the comics.

I would not exactly call it dark... but then again, people say the Gremlins movies are supposedly dark, and I don't see them like that either... maybe it's a cultural difference, as they were kinda introduced as kids movies here...

It didn't exactly have a lighthearted tone like the original cartoon either. For example you had Raphael saying "damn" several times as well as almost getting beaten to death by the foot clan. As a matter of fact, parents complained about it's tone which is why the sequels were more lighthearted.

Oh back then TMNT was mature all right. Less joking, Turtles looked more menacing, serious. People died in the open. They would show how a mouse gets eaten alive with blood and stuff. It was mature all right.

Hell I remember, when Raphael's face was half melted in one of the 1993 issues. Showed his eyeball sticking out and skin boiling. Not the pretty version.

Talk about a definite shocker with the latest trailer. I wonder who's gonna voice them in the game? Also for gameplay, I've seen comments from YouTube that they can be the "Quadborg" of Injustice, with the trait allowing them to switch with a bit of cooldown. Each has their own unique moveset and a couple of tag special moves via special move input with the trait button. The starter for them will most likely be Leo.

Although I was introduced to TMNT via the 1980s cartoon (and enjoyed the 1990s live action film), my favorite media incarnation of them was in the 2003 version (which arguably also have the best Shredder ever) with most dark tones in most episodes, but it was still kid-friendly.

As random as this is...(Yes I know TMNT started as a comic before the cartoon and movies ) I got to give it up as a smart business move from WB and NRS . My only question is how did WB get the rights to use these guest characters? Anywho this the first time I can recall seeing the ninja turtles in a fighting game since the tournament fighters game from the snes and genesis era! I can't wait to see how they work with injustice 2 mechanics! All I need now is a proper ( on current hardware ) 1989 Tmnt arcade and Turtles in Time snes port ( A cold day in Hell I know ) its awesome to see the ninja turtles back in a good game for once.

So, is this like Flash / Reverse Flash and Captain Cold / Mr. Freeze, or are they 4 separate characters?

I’m kind of hoping that all this stuff (The Batman cross-over and Injustice 2 guest thing) means that they (NRS) could potentially do a sequel or reboot of TMNT: Tournament Fighters, down the line.
I’ve been wanting to see a current-gen Tournament Fighters game that includes Casey, Shredder, Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady, The Rock Soldiers and the Neutrinos.

Don’t know how to feel about this, though.
On the one hand, it’s cool to see the TMNT (a big part of my childhood), but on the other hand, a part of me would have liked to have seen Killer Croc and / or King Shark, instead.

It'll probably be similar to Triborg in MKX and their trait will be swapping them out.

It really wouldn't make sense for them to premier skins of each other because each turtle uses a different trademark weapon.

The Triborg thing you mentioned seems likely, maybe up, down, left and right would correspond to a different Turtle, with the default one being Raphael (my guess, since he's the one that's shown first in the trenchcoat).
The trailer, IMO, made it seem like the special move could be all 4 fighting the opponent at once.
I dunno, I could also be completely wrong on that.

Personally I think it'll just be Leonardo with the other Turtles coming out for special moves.

Which makes me wonder how Gear will work. Is each turtle going to have their own slot? Will every turtle wear what Leo wears, or will they just be default while he's decked out? How are shaders going to work?

I think for shaders, I believe the color will likely affect either their shells or their skins. For gear, I think it'll take some aspirations from the Nexus tourneys and possibly from their adventures in space.

I'm just wondering how (and if) that'll work, though, considering that the 4 Turtles weapons have different hit boxes / ranges, no?
Unless they make Raphael's sais and Michaelangelo's nunchakus freakishly long.

Honestly don't think that will be the case here. There are just far too many people who like each turtle to have only one being playable and the others ONLY as assists.

Man, NRS needs to tone Supergirl down. She's ridiculous. Why the f%$k did they even buff her in the first place?!?! She's freakin plus on almost everything! WTF?!?!

Ah that explains why I wiped the floor with her, even though I never played Injustice before. After I got combos right (had to guess), I would keep people in air for entire match.

I hate playing Supergirl. People tend to just spam with her which is usually a good thing but still annoying. Start spamming teleport and just punish them. A good Supergirl is rare for me.
