Idea for online koins!

So after playing through MK9's arcade ladder, challenge tower and story mode multiple times I have accumulated plenty of coins.
Even after the krypt I have about a half a million coins.
And as you know they are completely pointless now.
So for MK10 I had an idea.
What if they made the krypt completely unlockable through game events.
And used the koins for online modes.
Like if you play someone and beat them you win some of their koins.
You could bet on the winners of KOTH matches and win koins as well.
And NRS could kreate special kostumes that would only be purchasable by winning a vast amount of these "online" only koins.
I think it would add some excitement to watching koth matches if there were some stakes involved.
And it would give the koins more of a purpose I guess.
What do you guys think?
 
Sounds like a nice feature to keep people occupied during KOTH and during character selection :).

Purchasable hidden costumes would be cool also. Something to consider in MK10.
 
It sounds luike a very intresting idea, but NRS would have to incorporate some sort of wager system before a match starts, (You know so people don't rage quit in mid match, for fear of losing koins.) I can't really see it happening but then again i never thought i would see Freddy in MK either.

They shoulda had the Title system from Street Fighter IV/Call of Duty where you unlocked specific titles to go above your name.
 
What about adding unlockable KOTH Avatars, Like a Shao Kahn or Goro, that could work for a kind of statis symbol reward

As long as they make a special mode for this i'm ok with it.
Dont want to wait even longer in a KotH before everyone placed his bet.
(what to do with hidden cursor ? Just make a bet and pray they choose KL ? :p )
Besides i think there will be much more rage when you actualy play to win something.
I'd rather see that you can change the coins for DLC :D
 
I don't know. That would kind of suck for people who don't play online. I don't really play online unless it's against friend since I find playing random boring to play against since I seem to normally run into those with lag and lame fighting tactics. So I don't know about a system that would force players to play online.
 
Its good, but I wouldn't like to lose my Kions, maby just the winner gains, because lets say a newbie is Vs. a Pro, and the kostum with Kions is good too.
