That doesn't make sense.
If it's gory, to some extent, it's going to be disturbing.

Scorpion slicing you in half at the waist and slicing your head off, then kicking your torso off and slicing your head in half, is disturbing.
The thing is that we, as MK fans have become desesitized to it.

My point is, that it still wouldn't have an AO rating, because it doesn't have extreme language and sex.
So, relax.
I'm not trying to argue with you.
I'm just making a point.

I totally agree with this. God of War 3 had a sex game with Aphrodite and it still stayed rated M. MK has no sex features so I doubt it will end up an AO.
 
ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE FOR THIS GAME TO GET AN AO RATING. Like others have mentioned before, theres no explicit language or sex and there are many games more explicit than MK. Adults Only games are basically sex/pornographically related, which MK is not, so dont stress guys. If you actually look at the list of AO games, theyre basically porn computer games, so the likelihood of this game getting an AO rating is slim to none.
 
It really all depends on how much under the table money mk pushes to esrb to turn the other way.

Esrb are like the Italian mob. Gotta pay them to keep them happy so they don't go ruining your fun and the lives of everyone else who wants to have that fun.
 
That is ridiculous that they would have to pay them to not get the AO rating when this will not get the AO rating, especially if it does not get banned in the UK. If this game does not get banned in the UK then this game will not get the AO rating, so it is stupid to come up with all this nonsense. I do not see any point in commenting on this topic anymore.
 
I dont get it why you are so stressed about the AO rating. That won't happen, because everything in MK 9 has been seen before in a MK game. Ok the graphs were less appealing, but back then the graphs were considered great too. Besides there is no pornography in it so relax!
 
Whether or not the game would qualify as AO in its present (or any) form is irrelevant, really. Even if somehow the violence would be enough to warrant an AO rating, the MK team would not release an AO game. They'd do whatever they had to do to make sure it was an M-rated title.

There's no way that they'll release a game you can't pick up at your local Wal-Mart.
 
^ Yeah we already know that and it has already been said so why repeat it? They can put whatever they want in this game and if it does not get banned in the UK then it would not get the AO rating in the US. Idiots would make sure to remember this over 3 years after Manhunt 2 because they have nothing better to do. This game will not get the damn AO rating in the US so why keep on talking about this? The problem now is not the ESRB it is morons who keep on bringing up this stupid issue when there are way more offensive games out there.

I'm almost 27, I could care less what rating it gets because, no matter what, I'll still be able to buy it <3

Yeah this is probably the post that makes the most sense out of everything here, if you're over 18, who gives a crap what it's rated? I think we should be arguing more for "Why this game better stay mature, and not go lower, to like teen."
 
I gotta say that even thought the fatalitiws that we have seen are gruesome and bloody. I think the ideas that we (the fans) have come up with in the "Create a Fatality thread" are more over the top than what will be released from the MK team. (*No offense guy...lol!) So i think its safe to say that and AO rating isnt going to happen, even thought it would be nice to be proven wrong and see some of our ideas put in the game!
 
If it did get an AO rating I don't think PlayStation or Microsoft would sell the game.

i think for it to to be ao they would have to show more i.e private parts, which is kinda pointless in a beat em up

Same with me. I mean I'm 21 by November 18, 2010. The only hard part about an AO game is where will we get it. But I think we can figure that out over the internet.
