Oh good GOD. His Deadly Alliance design was his worst.

They should have just stuck with something along the lines of his MK4 design. It was Reptilian, but human enough to satisfy the pro human Reptile fans.

I get that he is supposed to be lizard-like, but as a kid playing the original three games, I always assumed he was wearing a fleshy skin suit to look Human. That made him so creepy, in my opinion. He was a favorite of mine up until they turned him into some ridiculous man sized lizard. And then they reduced him to a lackey in MK9 which ruined the character for good.
 
I agree. DA Reptile was AWFUL.

Reptile's treatment in the series so far has been so depressing. This is a character with a very deep and emotional back story... And we barely get to see that. They change his design with almost every game (and it's always for the worst), they don't touch on his inner struggles and keep him held down as hired muscle for whatever villain is currently wrecking sh** up. It infuriates me.

I wish I got around to finishing the MK fan fic I wrote years ago. I was really proud of the way I represented Reptile. Ah well. Maybe one day. lol

Yes they completely destroyed him,thats why i think they should give him a rest for now.Take Reptile out,put Tremor in.
 
I would rather have an All Ninja roster than see another cyborg. Ketchup and Mustard is good enough.

Dont remember where I read/saw it, but Reptile is actually supposed to look more human than reptile. He only turns more and more into a reptile when hes absent from his home realm for too long.

You are correct, it's a relatively slow process, which is why he becomes more Reptilian as the series progresses.
 
Cyber Reptile doesn't even make sense. He is not a member of the Lin Kuei and has little to no connection with them at all. The only reason people conjured up this ridiculous concept is because they possess some strange logic that ninja characters need a cyborg variation.

His race was wiped out LONG before MK1. Yet come MK4 he starts getting all reptilian looking and then DRASTICALLY changes into a full blown lizard man within a couple games.

The rate at which he suddenly transitions makes no sense. By MK:A he should have still looked relatively Human.
 
You present that as factual proof, as if he was an actual character bound by real life rules, and that kept him from doing otherwise.
He was WRITTEN to devolve.
Likewise, he can be written to stop devolving, maybe from a spell put on him by Harry Potter if need be.
MORTAL KOMBAT IS FICTIONAL. THE CHARACTERS CAN DO WHATEVER THE WRITERS WANT. GET IT?

True. Actually I think his MK:A appearance besides the alternate was pretty accurate. Maybe with a more human skin tone it would make even more sense (His shaolin monks alternate).

They set the rules up themselves when they revealed that his race was wiped out during the war between Raiden and Shinnok. For a seriously long time he remained Human-like. That tells me that the devolution process is incredibly slow. Therefore his transition within the games makes no sense.

And then come MK9 we see that he's just an uglier poorly designed version of his MK4 self. The writers don't seem to know what they're doing with the character and keep rewritting the rules and overall existence of the character.
 
^ I agree.
People here treat MK as if was actually happening, and trying to infer things such as plot and roster by logic, while the developers don't give a crap about the logic and continuity of the whole thing.
 
They could actually add Khameleon (who looked AMAZING in Armageddon) to make Reptile's story great, but they pretty much put Reptile in the same basket of Baraka & Sheeva = tokens to be defeated and humiliated.
