How does MK franchise relate to your other favorite video games?

I am a big MK fan but, I have been a gamer since I was like 4 or 5 years. I love many different types of video games or video game franchises. I wanted to see what are your top 5 favorite video games besides MK?

Mine are: 1. Zelda, 2. Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver, 3. Resident Evil, 4. Metal Gear Solid, and 5. Castlevania/Metroid(tie).

Honorable Mentions: All Mario, God of War, Star Fox, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Megaman(to name a few).
 
1. The Legend of Zelda (but it's starting to go downhill)
2. Mortal Kombat
3. Tomb Raider (though the few games haven't been that good)
4. Silent Hill

There's really no other series that I follow like I do those three. So I'll throw some random game titles in there.

5. Dragon Age (****ing amazing game)
6. A few Mario titles
7. Knights of the Old Republic
8. Uncharted 1&2
9. Shadow of the Colossus

Moved to the console gaming section since "top 5 favorite video games besides MK" really has nothing to do with MK. Seriously guys, can we at least try to put things in the right section instead of just posting everything in the MK9 forum by default?

4. Vectorman
5. Shinobi
 
The MK series isnt a favorite of mine. The series as a whole........sucks.

The good MK games are great, imo. But they all started on a arcade cabinet (+ Shaolin Monks lol)

Love SF, SF Alpha, SF VS series, Zelda, Mario (specially the 2d games), Half Life's/Valve shooters, and just 2d fighters in general.

I normally do post MK9 related things but, I see people post various topics in this section frequently that are not MK related.This is the most visited part of the forums and I think sometimes we get hard pressed to keep coming up with MK9 related topics. I thought I should offer something a little new that all. 99% of the time I am talking MK on here.

It's okay to post topics unrelated to MK, as long as they are in the appropriate section.

In no particular order:

1. Tekken (see avatar).
2. RE (pre-RE4 series, especially the PS1 trilogy).
3. Streets of Rage.
4. Ridge Racer.

I can list others, but series-wise, those have been consistent favorites. I've got to mention Alpha 2 and 3 though... 3 especially, given that it was part of the greatest year in gaming ever (1998).
 
My top game series are:


1) Mortal Kombat

2) Metal Gear Solid

3) BurnOut (mainly because I can go into stunt mode, and destroy shit)

4) Guitar Hero (mainly the Metallica version)
Although I beat all the songs.
So now I just put the songs on, and jam to Metallica with my real Les Paul.
The Metallica songs are much easier to play in real life, than they are on Guitar Hero.

5) Assassin's Creed

1: Super Street Fighter II Turbo
2: SF VS series
3: MK I , II, UMK 3
4: Baldur's gate series & Dragon Age
5: Demon's souls (managed to finish NG + :proud: )
6: Castlevania series

The above are the ones I kept up with the most. There are other franchises that hold my interest, but I haven't kept up with them enough to evaluate the series as a whole. They include but not limited to Samurai Shodown, Virtua Fighter, Tomb Raider, Castlevania, and Disgaea. MK games tend to be a hit or miss for me, hits mostly consisted of the early games. I have high hopes for MK2011.

The MORTAL KOMBAT series is my #1 now!!! However, these are other games I like a lot.

1) Bloodrayne 2
2) Deadliest Warrior: The Game
3) Manhunt 2
4) King of Fighters series (The ones that have Mai, Leona, Mature, and/or Shion in it.)
5) Street Fighter series (As Cammy.)

The only real gaming series i ever got into (besides sports games)

was Metal gear solid...

Though i've played all the Gears of war (not first day purchases though)
