Hey... uh.. you all. What's your thoughts on THIS one?

If you look closely, people are saying it's a replica of Sub Zero's suit. But it really isn't. It has the tunic minus the badge. She had arm bands, but there's no metal bits to cover her arms. Her gauntlets are much simpler as Subbie has those knives on his gauntlets. Sub's loin cloth looks like 2 stacked on each other. Her's looks singular and her pants has a blue leather strip down the front. Her mask is slightly similar to Sub's but it's not an exact replica because Sub's looks more mechanical.

It could be a fan render by the virtue that her costume simply is similar in a lot of ways as Sub's but has much less shit going on compared to Sub Zero. But the quality of this model looks like the same quality as what we saw in E3 footage, actually a tad bit better.
 
Maybe it's an alternate skin for Sub-Zero? Like in Injustice they had both John Stewart and Hal Jordan in one character (If you don't know, they're both Green Lanterns).Only this time I'm not sure if it would be that easy seeing Subz and Frost would have different proportions.

Right now I don't think it's fake though.
 
That model is using bump maps and spec maps. The Tanya one is not. Besides, no one outside NRS would get Sub's textures and bump maps and stuff. I could be wrong, but this truly looks like it's real.

She could be a story npc. Actually, I hope that's all she is. But hey, this gives me more hope for Fujin, Reiko and Tanya at the very least being story npcs as well.

What if I told you it is actually easier than you think? There is a high possibility that this work is half photoshop half 3D. Ddon't get me wrong I want Frost in game, but I REALLY doubt it is legit NRS work.

It isn't really hard to replicate sub zero's costume. Especially with all nice reference pictures just waiting to grab them.

He said that that specific screen shot was fake, not whether the characters were in or not.
I'm pretty sure, per his non-disclosure agreement that he signed at NRS, he can't give hints as to who's in or as to who's NOT in.

If it ends up being fake, whoever did it has got some skill.It was easy making fakes that looked convincing during the PS2-era but now...you need to be really good so that it isn't labeled as fake straight away.

Have we seen that background before? Maybe that can help us sort this one out.

I'll tell you right now you won't be able to pull it off. This has NRS written all over it.

That isn't fake, you can tell it's a 3D model if you have any sort of experience whatsoever with 3D. And to slap Subby's "textures" (which is much more than that btw), one requires to acquire them. Guess what, the game ain't released yet.

Seriously, if this is fake, I'm already seeing that until April 14 someone will make a whole game fake.

IMO looks so legit. As said before, the costume isn't exactly as Sub-Zero. It's from the same type, but not exactly.

Let's imagine it's true. Maybe it's a common Lin Kuei outfit. At the least better than that crap she wore on 3D era.

And she had a good cameo on the comics.

I can't stop looking at how the hair, the skin, the eyes and the color of all looks like NRS work :laugh:

You know, maybe this is from Mobile, or something.

For a professional hobbyist with plenty of time on their hands, yes. This could totally be faked. But this was no work of some casual hobbyist with a pirated copy of photoshop and 3d studio max. If it's fake, someone went the distance for it. Paid a shit load of attention to the art direction of the game and such. If it's fake, and I'm willing to bet it most likely is, this is one damn fine fake.

I didn't ask for hints. I asked if the screens were real or fake. So he answered my question.
I am fully aware that he can't make hints to which characters are in or not, so I'd never ask that.
 
Seems no one has mentioned that her belt is completely different from Sub-Zero. I can definitely see this being legitimate.
 
I remember Ed Boon twitted something like "Remember Let It Go" some time ago.Maybe he was hinting towards her appearance?

(Let It Go is from Frozen, a Disney movie, I think you know it but maybe you didn't.Elsa, the main character, looks a lot like Frost)
 
Yes. It is indeed a bit of a weird choice. This is really true. But we have that whole passing the torch thing and if anyone was going to take on a Sub Zero mantle, it would be Frost of all people.
