GOOd/BAD MATCHUPS???

Lets discuss good and bad matchups for each character, in particular Quan Chi and Shang Tsung..Ive been playing online with these characters a lot lately..I've noticed Quan Chi is a horrible matchup for Sub zero, hes really the only character i lose to online when I use Quan Chi
 
noob saibot vs smoke is a hard one for noob, jade can be difficult as well.

on the other end JC can have a hard time with noob and so can sub zero tho not nearly as much.
 
i have been making easy work of any character that doesn't have a teleport with Noob (haven't played a Jade yet online, but as someone who plays Jade, it will not be fun >.<)
 
Worst matchup in my opinion EVER is Cyber Sub-Zero vs. Ermac. It's laughable how slow Subby's start up animations are, and Ermac can just teleport around EVERYTHING. Don't believe me? Just try it. For the best, it would have to be Johnny Cage vs. Kratos. Once again, just take advantage of the slow start up animations and you're in the clear.
 
Cyber Sub Zero vs Shang Tsung is practically impossible for Shang Tsung if the CSZ player realizes that Shang Tsung can't punish his divekicks.

Shang Tsung has a 5-5 or better vs almost everyone else. Vs Raiden he's like 4-6, it's not in his favor but it's not impossible in the slightest.

I am really not convinced on that one. I have seen spectacular Shang Tsung players being defeated and suffering to even come close to winning fighting Raiden. 4-6 is not convinceable. 3-7 is more like it, I've seen people even talking about a 2-8. Shang Tsung does not have many tools to overcome Raiden. He's not particulary fast, his fireball are not faster than Raiden's teleport and Raiden's stupid superman is not easily punished by Shang Tsung. Though I do consider Shang Tsung one of the best characters in the game, Raiden's shitty and stupid gameplay is not a fair fight for him. But this is only from my experience of course. Gosh, I dispise Raiden so much...
 
Haven't had much trouble vs Raidens (as Shang) because I haven't really played a good one. I can literally just jump back and punch to punish all his teleports and make them eat a combo. However vs a GOOD Raiden there might be a problem, but I don't really know. I find his worse matchups are against the rushdown characters that can frame trap him, because he has no normal to really punish melee mashing.
 
Bad matchups:

Sub-Zero - Skarlet
Johnny Cage - Sub-Zero, Noob, Reptile (?), Cyber Sub-Zero, a GOOD Kratos
Noob - Smoke, Jade

Why?

Because you can't mash 1 with him?



Jax is an amazingly underrated character.
He really is a great match for anybody.
Especially after the recent buffs he received.

But Noob Saibot still keeps him in his place :)
Probably Sindel too.

Smokes get wrecked when they try to hop on my Sektor.


I'm not even talking about spammers, I've faced very skilled Smokes who wrecked my Jax, but fell to their knees before Sektor.


A tip for Sextoy players having trouble with Smoke, Cyber Sektor's up missile, when timed correctly, limbos under Smoke's teleport and hits his hand with your missile :laugh:
