Honestly I've never heard of KoF or GG/Blazblue. I've played old KI back in the day, but the new one is an XB1 exclusive and they can suck my d***.

The thing I am most worried about with these dead characters returning and not having as much new ones as promised is the game's story feeling forced for the sake of popular faces and the game overall feeling half-baked. On one hand you get a small amount of new guys on the other you get all the old favorites that shouldn't be there, because they died and plans were different, preventing many MK4-MKA characters to make a proper comeback. I think the game will suffer from this sudden change of direction and lack of proper marketing. The new and old things don't fit properly right now. And it's not just the lack of explaining things. I mean, we've seen like 10 stages already... most of them look brand new. Yet we only have 4 new characters right now and the rest are returning. Why no returning stages then as well? Half of the stuff in this game for me looks out of place. And using the comic book to explain stuff? Why should I bother? The game is the main product. Everything should be in there. Using a comic is being lazy and trying to have some excuse for changing the plan mid-development. MK9 ended on such a high note, yet MKX is starting as low as it can get. The new character designs are superb, but that's about it. Now that's is more less evident all the dead will return, yeah great, I just feel upset as hell. There's no way NRS can explain it properly without it feeling dumb. I was thrilled to hear them start from scratch. I mean, I expected a roster of 70% new and 30% old - the ones who survived MK9 simply. Now it's more like the other way around. Ed has no balls.

No, it's unfortunate they released it exclusively to one console. When I heard about the new game I went bananas. I was so ready for it... Until I heard that it was an Xbox One exclusive.
There is no way I would buy an entire system for one single game. I fell for that with Nintendo and Zelda. Never again. lol
That being said, KI looks amazing and I truly wish I could play it. But...

They released it exclusively because Microsoft owns the the property.
I agree that it would be nice if more people could play it. It really is worthy of more peoples attention. They have done an amazing job with it.
I just buy all systems, and I know this isn't the pratical for everyone, but I feel like its such a small investment over a 5-10 year period that its justified. For me, there will always be enough games on each to justify the purchase.

I'm getting married this year. I can't justify buying an Xbox just for KI. Most games that come out for Xbox can be played on the PS4. It's not worth it. Even if I wasn't saving up money. lol

Maybe for you, but not for me.
I don't spend a lot of time gaming as it is. The last game to pull me in for days was Dragon Age Inquisition. The next will probably be MKX. Everything else is fluff. I'm very picky about what games get crazy attention from me. So buying an Xbox One when I already have a PS4, would be a huge waste.
When PS3 and 360 were new, I bought both. I used the 360 twice and just recently gave it to my little sister. :/

I always felt like Killer Instinct was a poor man's Mortal Kombat. Jago was cool and so was Fulgore (even though I feel like he's an absolute ripoff of Predator and that Sektor, Cyrax, and Smoke crush him in the cyborg department) but the other characters were awful to me. There storyline was pretty corny, too. Not dissing you for liking it but yeah...

Killer Instinct ceased to exist as Killer Instinct when they dropped fatalities. The modern KI is really Killer Instinct Lite.

Killer Instinct Lite is a way better game than KI 1 and 2 though. No need for finishing moves when the game stands out from the rest with its unique breaker system.

I think it's too early to judge. They reveal the returning characters first. I am sure that we won't see the new characters until april. They need time. I really like how they present new characters in the MKX comic. After reading only two issues the new characters are already very familiar for me, actually more than almost every new character of the 3d era.
I also understand people who want some MK9 characters to return (so do I). The only character from MK9 which is not revealed yet and HAS to return, for me, is Reptile. I will be very disappointed if he won't return. Imagine how sick his acid fatalities would look like. I want a new creative design, similar to the one from MKSM. I was disappointed with Reptile in MK9 - stupid design, can't speak, always loses...

I have no idea how people expected the new KI to be multiplatform. Microsoft owns the KI license and they paid for the game.

i liked the human form the most. His MK4 version had something good
too, but needed some work, imo. I even think they could try and remake
his infamous DA model. This time around they could make it look awesome.
And i really want him, if he is in, to be more than a weak, mute henchman.
They got to give him some purpose finally.

It would be fine with me if Reptile was the last character from MK9 to be revealed. He needs to be in MKX and I also prefer his human form. I actually can't imagine that they would left him out.
The DA model was horrible IMO. I want him to look like this:
I want Reptile because he is perfect for the new variations system. Imagine the possibilities and his fatalities. There is a lot of potential.
